(Note to moderators, the events themselves will be posted in the gatherings section, thank you).
Greetings
I have decided to start a Cinema/Social group in London England called LONDON FILM CLUB, exclusively for TMF type people. This will be based around two West End cinema events per month (one Midweek and one on a Sunday). The midweek one will consist of prefilm drinks circa 7.30pm for 8.30pm screening. The Sunday one will consist of drinks at circa 5.00pm for 6.00pm screening, with an optional Pizza/Pasta afterwards. Note the Cinema events may occasionally be substituted for another social event (such as The Globe Theatre).
It is worth stating at this point that this will be a FRIENDSHIP club. It is not a NEST, nor is it a club where you can expect to be presented with a mass of young, willing, and available, Lees/Lers of the opposite sex. Thus the club concept is not going to work for everyone. Those for whom it will work, will be relaxed, friendly, patient, non ageist people, who are confident about socialising with others (and needless to say have some interest in cinema).
The club is going to grow slowly. It may be that at the first half dozen cinema events, I will be the only one there. That's fine because I go and watch movies anyway. My experience has shown that clubs that 'stick around' always end up growing, as people eventually begin to trust the idea and want to try them out. Thus those people who are prepared to stick around themselves, will in the long run reap the benefits over those who merely turn up once, look around and say: "where is everyone / Is this all there is"
However for a club like this to work there has to be rules. If that is a problem, all I can say is WAKE UP. We are governed by rules at home, at work, at leisure, on the road, everywhere. To enjoy our lives and make them work, we need to know what the parameters are. However if you can't accept the club rules, then stay away.
DA ROOLS
========
1) All films will ultimately be chosen by me, although group suggestions will be taken into account.
2) No Cinema event takes place with less than four people (including the organiser)
3) No touching/tickling will be allowed at any Cinema event.
4) Each Cinema event is to be a safe/self contained unit. Thus anyone suggesting that others go on to a party/club/house etc., after the film, will be removed from the club along with anyone who goes with them. This rule is for everyones protection (especially mine); after all you have the rest of the month to organise your own thing.
5) To join the club you will need to provide a normal Christian name with your email enquiry. If this is a concern, by all means make one up, as long as it is sensible and you stay with it. People who try to use names such as: 'Buxom Ticklee' or 'Monster Tickler' will be declined until they provide a real one (mainly because it could prove embarrassing when ordering drinks).
6) There will be two classes of membership. Associate membership will be for those who have attended less than three Cinema events. Their email address will be hidden from Full members for mailings, as will full members email addresses be hidden from them. After you have attended three events you will be invited to become a Full member, where you and all other Full members will have your email addresses visible to each other when club emails are sent out. You may at this stage contact other club members direct to make your own social arrangements as well. Please bear in mind however that any arrangements you do make will be outside the confines of the club, and that this facility is for making social arrangements (not spam)and is not to be abused. Full members will also be invited (not compulsary) to state whether they are a Lee or Ler or both, and will then be given the designation (E) or (R) or (ER) with their email name.
7) Members who act in an aggressive, obnoxious or boorish manner towards other members at events (or abuse the email facility) will be removed from the club. My decision on this will be final.
8) Unfortunately this cannot be a club for Gay men, or those into M/M tickling. There is a large and organised gay scene out there, and basically if you are gay it is less problematic if you stay within that.
JOINING + EVENTS
================
To join the club's event mailing list (as an associate member) simply send your email + christian name to [email protected]
All events will be advertised in the gatherings section of the TMF, http://www.ticklingforum.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=40 where there will be a cut off time/date to make sure there are sufficient numbers. However the exact arrangement details will only be sent to members on the mailing list. Club members will automatically have exact arrangement details sent to them, and bookings + approximate numbers will be confirmed AFTER the cut off date. PLEASE do not try to book for events through the TMF, as this will only cause confusion.
