New Computer / Clip Transfer

So my old computer died out; the power supply is fried, and Lord knows what else.

I'd like to find a way to get my clips from that computer onto the new one I'll be buying, and I'm curious if anyone knows a way to make that happen. I would originally think I could just remove my hard drive from the old one and try to put it in my new one, but thought someone a bit more tech-savvy could help me out.

Removing the hard drive is a possibility. If it is a SATA-type drive, you can just plug it in and the new computer will see it as another drive. This is a simplistic view of the situation (as there could be trouble with the computer deciding which drive has the OS on it) but it a possibility. If your old drive is IDE that's more of an issue; IDE drives see one worrying about master/slave relationships and you really don't want to bother with that.

Do you want an easy solution? Buy/borrow/use a USB thumb drive and transfer all your clips over with it, even if it takes multiple runs to get all the files. No issues with the hard drive causing problems in the new machine and no worries about transferring the drive itself.
