Hello everybody... I joined the forum three weeks ago and thought I'd introduce myself both to those who met me in the chatroom and those who post around here, as well as the moderators. I am Justadinosaur from Florence, Italy. But hopefully due to relocate to the Netherlands if all goes well, next summer or later...
I am studying Earth science (any geologists here, by the way??), working as a translator and wondering whether scientific journalism wouldn't be more suitable a choice than looking for a PhD project, but we'll see about that. I love to chat about anything but mainly I am very much into science and a veritable bookworm! Learning more about everything is a hobby, not remembering anything of it is the inescapable consequence!
I love to work out, to hike in the outdoors, to stay with my friends and, in case anyone were wondering why I'm here, to tickle my wonderful girlfriend!! Seen as I am momentarily short of any such wonderful girlfriend, I occasionally enjoy the company of a no-less-wonderful friend who's often visiting from the USA... We're really just friends, but, hmm, sort of close?
And she's very ticklish! Might have stories to tell... ( =
Well... That's enough. I'm sending a greeting to all of you contributing to make this such a nice place on the Internet, not just for tickle-fans but in general, I think. And greetings in particular to Ming, Wolf, Crydun, Bellybuttontickler, Ticklebear, NylonFeet, MassTickleSlave, Grippedchimp, Dowson, Sole_Seeker and many others I got to know in the chatroom and who were nice and welcoming to me! ( =

Glad to have you with us! Since you've already spent some time with us in chat, you know how looney we can get. So, I'll refrain from the usual bit on that. Looking forward to some cool input from you.

I didn't realize you were doing earth sciences. That's cool. I love the fields of geology and volcanology, though I'm not exactly well versed on either...high school courses and some independant study. There was a time when I thought that was the direction I wanted to go in. Circumstances dictated otherwise. But, I still enjoy them.

Hello justadinosaur,

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you with us!

Buon Giornio, just! (I hope that's right.) It's always nice to meet international (non-American) members, and I'm also into science. So where in the Netherlands are you planning to relocate? I assume Amsterdam but correct me if I'm wrong. 😀

Hi again... Thanks for your welcome! Yes 4Pawz, I remember you too in the chatroom!

Ann, I think it would never be late to take up some geology again, if just for curiosity or more. Admittedly, it takes a weirdo like me to be interested in sands and muds (I am into sedimentology, more specifically!) and maybe there are more fun things to do in your spare time... Including tickling I suppose!!

Hi amk! If all goes well, I should be at the university in Utrecht next year. Amsterdam is also a lovely city, but a bit overwhelming and messy, it's very different from the rest of the country... On the other hand, Amsterdam hosts the most gorgeous bookstore in Holland, Scheltema Holkema & Vermeulen. Check that out if you happen to travel there, any thirst for science would soon be quenched by the billions of books they have in store, about everything! 😉
Nice to have met you all!!

P.S. Qjakal, if I where to think of some figure representing justadinosaur as a part of myself, it would be a very silly-looking dinosaur! 😀 I'll ask Venray to give me a hand some day, thanks! Is he an artist or what....??

Benvenuto, justadinosaur! How good to see a fellow European here at the forum! :cool2:
