I'd like to spend a couple more words on this piece.
The more I watch it, the fonder it gets to me.
I still think that tablets might be stifling your extra edga a bit - yet, since they undoubtedly raise your productivity, nobody's going to complain.
They sure give a definite boost to your talent; you are no longer bound to PnP's [pencil & paper] limits - which means sky's the limit.
And in this case, I'd say you broke your previous boundaries.
I am really loving the line-work; expression is subtle - midway between suffering a kinky pleasure.
Were one to add captions, she might be saying something along the lines of "oh, no... no... mmm... yes! YES!" - and I'm staying on the conservative side of articulate, so you all can fill the gaps.
Stray thought: if you were to apply your full range of colour skills - you know, the same from that deviantart pic I keep praising... - we might have a demi-Scamwich here.
...
Aw...key.
A lot of typing for a single picture, and I am not one to spend praises carelessly.
I'd rather spend time watching and learning new tricks, than simply fondle anybody's ego.
😉
...
Fading back to black.
Mmm... so much for my previous statement.Though, in Umojar's defense... full range of color skills take a long time! But then, you would certainly know that better than me Kalamos...
Let me go take my foot out of my mouth. xD;
Mmm... so much for my previous statement.
...
Sigh...
Back from black!
...
I wanted to point you to an older piece of U. from his dev gallery, but the blasted cheat apparently removed it.
At any rate, full colour range was fully within Umojar's capabilities a few years ago, already.
He's been cutting corners, which is good for him, and bad for me, since I used to watch his colour technique for ideas.
...
To be fair, I dunno what you mean about me knowing better than you do. 🙂
My current technique is very rough and ready; most the shading happens in pencil - blending hues and shades is actually a late part of the colour thing.
I just added an extra layer for details that just had to be shiny - but, really, I am sure U'jar could come up with something equally quick and effective - and his pics would get an extra realistic boost from that.
...
Maybe in due time.
It's incredible what a young man such as himself can do with proper tools and stuff.
🙂
Ah, the dubious mark of uniqueness...Umojar's talent is that his lineart style is quite unique, and your talent to me is that your coloring style is also quite unique.
Show them!I've seen 15 year olds that can blow older, more experienced artists out of the water. o-o
