Another Ebay purchase of original, 1990s published bondage art, from a story called "Some Time Together" by Simon Devon (not 1980s bondage queen Simone Devon, apparently). It came with an overlay. I'd love to know more about the artist's work.
This one isn't tickling oriented. It was notable to me that the inking was done over blue pencil lines, which isn't usually something an amauture or a comic art newbie will do.
Also striking was the long dark hair of the bound woman, the suggestion of bangs, and that 'Sorac' signature (which is actually a clipped piece of paper). These things all reminded me so much of the style of Dave Stevens, down to that big swooping "S" although he used lower case lettering in his name and this artist went with all uppercase. (I've added a comparison below). It's not the same but I think I can tell whom Sorac admired.
But the seller described the art like this:
"Original Art by Comic Artist Simon Devon Sorac 1994
Some Time Together
titled: Bondage Art by Spaz 1984 measures approx 14x17"
So is the artist Spaz? Or Simon Devon Sorac? Or, the writer Simon Devon and the artist just Sorac? Is 1984 just a typo? None of my Googling points to who any or all of these people may be as far as commercial artists go.
Either way I love the art. Quite well done. No name of the publication on the back, though so I don't know where it came from specifically.
Strangely, there is something handwritten on the back. The name Sorac and a home phone number for a major west Texas city. I'm not going to call the number; I'm not trying to expose anyone in any way, but the clues are confounding and I wish I know who had done this amazing work.
I'll post more purchases soon in the hopes that someone might privately recognize the various artists.
