Notebook help

Im wanting to ask for a Notebook for my Birthday. I just like the idea of them being portable and your able to carry them around. I've asked around on notebook sites and read up on reviews and information about theses Two. But out of theses two notebooks Which would you think would be the best for a first time notebook owner like myself!


Dell Inspiron 1100

Well, being a first time user shouldn't matter too much, since most notebooks handle like desktops nowadays (Usability wise.). However, the 1100 has more processor power, so if you plan on playing games or anything that needs power, get that.

The other, which used a Centrino, is going to be your best shot if you plan on using it while unplugged a lot, since the Centrino processor is designed to use as little battery life as possible, while the other will guzzle it.

1100: Portability with lots of battery life.

8600: Portability with power.


Trust me on this though: A regular desktop processor, like the one(s) in the 1100, will drain a battery in minutes.
