There has been much speculation on what rank comes above the seven colors of the spectrum. Now we know--HDS is the first Black Feather with 8,000 posts.

If the previous seven (plus) levels were named for colors in the visible light spectrum, and were ordered according light's appearance when refracted in a prism, then what would bring us to think that black would follow Violet?

Now, I understand that ultraviolet feathers are quite impossible to fathom, and that they do not exist in nature, and blah blah blah

Perhaps it should have been White, as this is produced when mixing together all of the visible spectrum colours?
