I've fallen for a girl or two in my time. After I graduated from high school last year, I haven't had a really serious relationship. However; this time, I'm completely stumped. I date a few of my female friends now and then, nothing serious, dinner and a movie, picknick at the park, midnight stroll on the shore (lake shore, blasted state is surrounded by land), but it's always stayed light hearted. No one has even mentioned commitment. Recently, I've fallen head over heels for one of these girls, the strange thing is, I haven't seen her in two weeks, she left with her family on vacation to Ireland. She'll be before her graduation which is soon. Any suggestions of what I should do? Do I appreciate what I have, leave well enough alone? Or do I tell her how I feel?

I don't fully understand how I could have fallen for her if she's not here. Perhaps I now realize what I took for granted...but I can't sort this one out, I can usually figure out why I do things. Anywho, any advice would be appreciated, any similar stories out there?

If you still feel that strongly when she returns, let her know. You don't have to say "I love you and want to marry you." Just let her know that you really care for her. See where she (and your feelings) will take it. Don't rush things. But, don't let the right one slip away by silence either. Good luck!

Only you know all the details and intangibles surrounding your dillemma, but here's my experience. You'll kick yourself down the road for not letting her know how you feel, if the feeling is that strong. Take some time and inventory your true feelings. Separate the immediate feelings from the ones you may have had long-term. See how you feel a few weeks from now...then go for it if you still feel that strongly. It may go well, it may not, but at least you'll know. I wish you all the best and hope it all works out for you.😎

Thank you Ann and Dave, she got back into town today. I didn't rush and tell her how I felt, but she seemed happy when I suggested that we do something together this weekend. I'm still not quite certain why I fell for her so quickly, she's Irish/English and I'm Italian so I guess there's the answer. Most Italian guys fall for Irish lasses, I don't believe that's the reason, but it's what my friends are joking about right now...and making plenty of pasta and grease jokes. Well, thank you again, hopefully fate has a nice summer planned for me, and everyone here at the TMF of course. If not, we'll just have to take fate into our own hands.
