first we have four days of 80-90 plus weather in mid-April... and then this morning an earthquake wakes me up. yes, an earthquake in NY! (sounds like a movie of the week lol) now they are talking snow on Monday! very bizarre.
we upstate New Yorkers are used to blizzards and ice storms... but the past few years have thrown some new problems our way. three years ago a tornado ripped through my area and two years ago a microburst (I had never even heard of this weather phenomenon until I was hit by one) destroyed thirteen trees on my property and sent the top 20 ft of one of them through my neighbor’s deck.
I don’t know if I am ready jump on the ‘it’s the greenhouse effect!’ bandwagon but it does make me wonder why this little area of the world has been acting so strangely.
