and those old school straw brooms, that you see in cartoons ridden by witches, actually suck as sweeping implements. At least indoors anyway, maybe they work better outdoors to sweep up leaves and such...

Cleaning in and of itself seems like an exercise in futility to me. You know the Law of Conservation of Mass, right? That mass cannot be created or destroyed, only converted to another form?

Well, I believe in the Law of Conservation of Mess--that mess cannot be destroyed, just moved around to different places. Leaves, dirt, clutter, whatever--you're not really cleaning, you're just moving it someplace else. XD

As long as I can get it out of my home and into the trash bucket where it's taken to some dump somewhere else then I'm okay with that. 😀

In essence: "If stupid people weren't stupid and acting stupid then stupid things wouldn't happen" lol. People would rather feel themselves go faster than everyone else and then get pissed off when they have to slow down.
