" ....and all that kind of bullshit, and then,while he was in mid bullshit, a mortar went off some distance away and he ran like an iddy biddy chicken back to his APC. WHAT A TWAT.

Then we had some clown trying to do a "McArthur" lighting up a cigar on duty for the cameras.....but the lighter blew out......if he tried that in the British Army he would be spending the next year or so in Colchester military prison. WHAT A TWAT.

gee red, i posted a reply, but i see now it's gone. so how about it mods, why the pull? all i said was what military unit i was in!

in case it's not a state secret, i'll try again.
i served in the bad old days under the carter administration. i was in a unit that basicly mucked with other folks oil wells, refineries, labs, etc.. when i enlisted they thought my degree in geology/petro-chemical engineering was a natural fit, lol! 4 years of collage, for that?! my specialty was the labs, others were oil well heads, refineries etc. we were all trained in demo, airborne, assault, etc.
i was a bit of a klutz though, so after a particlarly interesting time in taking down a guard, i was relieved of that little chore. and when playing with c4, my hands tended to shake a bit. so before i was injured, and got discharged i got to do more intel stuff prior to any demo work.
one training revolution that i found interesting was working with some of your special boat people. we were training in the north sea.
now those chaps were some awsome troops! and how they could drink!

No we don't we concentrate on the job in hand, instead of standing on top of tanks providing wonderful targets for Draganov wielding Iraqis. Still the Carry on Films were getting a bit boring for me. Without the spectacle of gung-ho tosspots marking Iraqi trees with their piss and claiming it for Uncle Sam, I'd have no entertainment these days.

Was that the Special Boat Service of the Royal Navy/Marines or the Special Boat Squadron detachment of the SAS? Both of them are own-dead-eating, double-hard-bastard types though. And yes they CAN drink! None of your ice-cold Budweiser shit either. Proper fucking luke-warm British beer, that peels the insides off your eyelids and gives you a nosebleed for our boys! 🙂

the sas boys, big jim. being the newbie that i was i found a few of them quite intimidating. we were training on the north sea oile rigs, they were showing how to do an assualt on off shore rigs.
acctually we, and they, were drinking some cold german, and dutch piss. stronger than we get in the states ,i can tell you! as for bud.? i won't rinse my mouth this that crap! lol.
