OK -- I'm violating my own gripe...

I have a gripe about this section -- which I am admittedly violating (just this once) by posting the following:

There once was a time when this section existed for the purpose of posting video/audio clips -- PERIOD. Now, it has turned into a section primarily about the discussion of video clips, the demand for video clips, offers to trade video clips, running commentary on whether certain video clips should be available on line, problems inherent in posting clips, discussions about whether certain video clips exist, etc., etc., etc. ENOUGH ALREADY!! The section is, frankly, getting to the point where 90% of the posts are a waste of time for anybody actually looking to see a video/audio clip! I'm NOT saying these discussion don't belong in the TMF -- I'm saying they don't belong in the Video/Audio Clips section.

Here's a modest proposal: ask yourself 1 simple question before posting in the 'video/audio' section: "am I posting a video clip or audio clip?" If the answer is no, do it some place else!

Although I agree to a point, I do have to add that this a pretty big Forum, all things considered. I really don't think it's that bad having discussion regarding clips in one easy-to-find place. It keeps the other sections from getting over-cluttered. If you have a concern regarding a clip, or if you want to post one, you know right where to go.

Perhaps try dividing the section into two parts?

Maybe the "Media Clip" secion could be divided into two sub-categories somehow. Like, the main page could remain the same, only once you click the link to come here, you're presented w/two 'sub-options' or something that will take you to diff. sections. One could be, like, "Tickling Media Files" and the other could be "Requests and Misc." or something. Just an idea. It'll solve the problem of the section being cluttered with requests and things while at the same time keeping it mostly in the same area. And I agree w/MN Tikl in that it gets pretty frustrating to see something along the lines of "HOT, RARE TICKLING CLIP!" and when you open it, it's a request for some HOT, RARE TICKLING CLIP that someone wants instead of someone actually supplying it.

Perhaps a simpler method would be to ask those with request submissions to put "REQUEST:" in their post titles.

Requests already have their own Forum... It's the Forum us Mods move a lot of misplaced posts to. Sorry if we can't catch them all, you people are just too fast sometimes 😀

As for splitting this Forum into two... OH NO PLEASE NO!!! Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep track of all the different Forums we already have? Overspecialization isn't really needed, is it? Do you want to have a bunch of collapsed Mods and Admins on your conscience? I thought not. (You there, in back! I heard you say 'Yeah'! I know who you are! Sheesh... 🙄 )

But honestly, if everyone abides by the posting standards and uses the right Forums to post to, all should be well. And a clearly defined subject line can also help. Who knows? Maybe Myriads will take the request to heart and actually split this Forum (NO PLEASE NOOOOO!!! )

I have no plans to spit this forum. Discussion about clips, (or lack thereof) is a valid use of it in my eyes. And we will work harder to punt requests over to the request forum.
