I burned several clips and many pictures onto CD when I purchased my new, uber-computer. I was daft enough to delete these files from MY Documents when I did this. I now want to transfer the pics and clips back off of the CD's and into My Docs, but can't figure out how to do it, despite it sounding like a pretty elemtary proceedure.

Can someone puh-leeeeeeeze help me out again?

On a Mac you'd just open the CD on your desktop and drag whatever you wanted from it to the folder on the computer that you wanted them in. I'd like to think that such a sensible method would work on windows systems also. I'm probably wrong though.

I would assume that for a Wintel system you will need to select the files, then right (or is it left?) click on them to get a 'copy to' pop up choice. Enter where you want them to go and that shoudl work.

On the assumption your new PC came with Windows XP, you should be able to find the files on the disc, using Windows Explorer or similar, then choose Copy To Folder on the Edit menu. Select the place you want to put them in the window that opens and hey presto...

Thanks Slant, it worked a treat.

Thanks to you too Myr, grateful you responded. 🙂
