Ross landed in OKC, went to the office, greeted Fritz and Steve, and put his suitcase in his private office.
"Gentlemen, so good to see you. What is on the agenda for this trip?" Ross asked happily.
Fritz laughed. "You must be so happy to be out of that city between all that is going on with Mister Hell, and Mister Patrick"
"Its a nice change., Ah, so to focus on what we have to do here. What do we have to do here?" Ross said, as the three men laughed.
"Simple. We jump in the SUV, find lunch, go to the field right outside town, meet fifty people in person, and another fifty in the field office via Zoom. When that is finished, we see how we do, and then discuss" Fritz said.
"I can stay until as late as need be on Wednesday night. Teacher will not roar because I've been home with her for over a month. I dont go into the office the day after I come home from here, so I wont see her until she gets home from work on Thursday" Ross said.
Ross , Fritz and Steve drove out near the field, had lunch at a burger place, then went to the field, where 125 investors, 50 at the field, and 75 via Zoom, listened as the foreperson and Fritz lectured about the deal.
The men were all pleased, when seventy five people signed up. Those people were also advised about the energy fields in Canada. Ross explained that said people would need to have a conference call with Ross, Fritz, Steve, and John Fish to do that, which would take some time.
All in all it was a very productive day.
Dinner was at a seafood house, then Ross went back to his hotel where he called Kayley.
"How are you??" The teacher asked.
"I'm fine. I have not been anywhere in a month. We signed up a good amount of people today, and I'm happy to be out of the circus of the office" Ross said.
"Ross, I dont care if you want to come home on Thursday morning since I wont be here and you dont go into the office anyway. Just do whatever your body tells you to" Kayley said.
"Thanks, Babe, but my flight will be in JFK not that late Wednesday night so you might even be up to see me. It depends on how long the show on Wednesday takes. Let's just play it by ear" Ross said.
Ross had a decent night's sleep. On Tuesday, it was back to the office for some more investors lists, and then to the field with another 90 people, of which 30 signed up, "Fair" as Ross's father liked to say.
Tuesday night was much of the same, diinner, a fair night's sleep.
On Wednesday, Ross, Fritz and Steve were at the field at sunrise with 110 investors, of which 42 signed up.
It was barely noon when the show was over.
Fritz said.
"Ross C, I do not want to sound like the teacher you are married to, but please do not get any bright ideas of going into the office when you get home. You remember what happened last time" Fritz reminded Ross.
"I'm not changing my plane. I told Kayley that I will be home around mid evening. Plane takes off at 3, lands at 8, home by 9. No change in that schedule" Ross said.
Just as those words left Ross's mouth, Ross's cell phone rang. It was none other than Alan Hell.
"Alan, hi, I know you are aware of where I am" Ross said.
"Ross, I know that you're busy with your show. I just wanted to give you a heads up. The Pennsylvania and National BARR Association was so appalled at Tom's antics , that they held a special hearing on the situation. Tom's license was suspended, and I got a call demanding that his employment be immediately terminated pending this issue. As of now, Tom no longer works for this firm" Alan said.
Ross tried to control his laughter. All Ross said was.
"Alan, as you know I'm not alone. Fritz and Steve are here with me. All I will say to protect our privacy, is that such is what said individual gets for engaging in what he did" Ross said.
"I've instructed any of the lawyers who work for my firm to turn down Tim's case if Tim comes looking for a lawyer. We both know that we have not heard the end of this. Can you possibly come into the city to meet me for lunch at 1 pm tomorrow? I think we have things to discuss" Alan said.
"Yes, I'm coming home not too late tonight. After I see you, I will decide if I want to make my life really fun and go into the office. TP must be pissed as Hell at what happened. I suspect soon he will call and cry to me" Ross said,.
"Ross, have a good rest of your trip, and please do not talk to TP until you and I meet. We dont want to have a conflict of interest" Alan said.
"Alan, between you and, me, I am very, very close to letting go of said individual" Ross said.
"Just finish your trip and we will meet tomorrow" Alan said.
No sooner had Ross finished with Alan Hell, then Ross received a text from Tim.
"Need to talk, something bad happened" Tim said.
Ross texted back. "You know I'm in OKC. Not coming home today or tonight, may or may not be back tomorrow, will contact you when I get home" Ross said to Tim.
When Ross hung up with Alan , Fritz asked him. "Was that our friend Alan?"
Ross did not want to divulge the details, so he just said.,
"Yes, he just wants to talk to me on the phone tomorrow about his campaign, No big deal" Ross said, feeling it was better for him to keep the truth private.
Ross finished in OKC, went to the airport, flew to JFK, and when he got home, after Ross kissed the half sleeping Kayley hello, he went into his home office, and hie message machine was blinking yet again.
That usually did not mean good news.
What did said mean this time?
That would be revealed
