Anybody got cool and/or unique old computers they've collected?

I'll get photos of my Macintosh collection to show here before too long. I'll try to get a photo of Sammi's Commodore as well!

I have an ancient Zeos Pantera sitting in the basement somewhere. Still works, as far as I know (Came with Windows 3.1, now has 95), but that's not really very old, not by some standards.

I guess, an important way to define it... does it feel like it's an important memory? Do you have fond memories of it?

I have many memories of the bloody thing crashing whenever you tried to do something with it. XD I suppose some are fond, like trying (And failing) to use Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, using some program called "Animals" or "Zoo" or something, and playing such nifty gems as "Gizmos and Gadgets," "Math Workshop," and "Little Howie's Funhouse." It's been a long time, though...

Some people collect license plates, he collects computers.
BOY DOES HE

i used to have an old Mac, circa late 80's, early 90's. forgot the specs, but it got destroyed when it got dropped from my attic, long story, but i love to tinker with it, i got it to work after someone gave it to me since they believed it was broken. even came with some old learning frogger game on one of those good 'ol fashioned 5 and a half inch floppys.

I have an Amstrad, CPC 6128, still almost in full working order ('cept for a burnt out disk drive). Got loads of old games disks for it too.

It was made in '85, and was so low-spec, it has no hard drive - everything is run from 3" (not 3.5") floppy disks. The RAM is 128K if memory serves, there's a processor in there doing a whole 600KHz (yep, you heard right), and the disk drive - along with all the processor circuitry in fact - is physically located in the keyboard. And I still can't beat those damn video games on it. LOL.

first computer I ever worked with was an IBM 1130 complete with card readers
punch cards that is for all you youngsters

Norm,

Macs never used 5.25" disks. That would've been an Apple II

been searching for a Commadore lately, but nuthing with a reasonable price.

btw, nice siggy. i'll be sure to cast my vote in '08

I have to go with Norm. I am too stuck on PC's and Windows to want to really go whole hog on anything else.
Bottom line
too stubborn.
Mine works, so why bother.

Not if you are old and set in your ways. If the things had relays in them I would prefer them instead of chips.

I have a slightly used Commodore 64 somewhere but I never had the proper cables to hook it up.

If it's anything like the Vic20, it requires several Radio Shack components. Simple, but these things can get expensive.

Run Linux. At least if you're going to like Windows, claim to like 2000. It was the only good version. 😀

Commodore forever.

I was trying to be all about the open source software. I really enjoy using Linux. Alas, the professional apps for my purposes don't exist there.
