As a child I remember watching the Dick Van Dyke show of course even at a young age I wanted to tickle Laura Petries feet played my Mary Tyler Moore. I happened to be watching Nick at Nite when an old episode came on which Lauras toe got stuck in the spicot of the bath tub. Laura was explaining the whole story to her friend Millie resting her nyloned soles on a foot rest. Right away I was mesmorized by her nyloned covered soles and dreamed of tickling them on the spot. I do remember one episode which Laura was going to tell Millie a secret but wanted her to promise not to tell anyone Millie replied " you can tie me up and tickle my feet with feathers ill never tell anyone" ! Of course I though how cool it would be if both Laura and Millie were interrogated and tickled on their feet if they didnt talk.

have you seen "what's so bad about feeling good?" I'd imagine that's about how Laura would react. She would NOT hold up well. Thinking back, there are a few subtle times Laura was tickled in the DVD show.

That line from Millie was even better than that, IIRC. “If I tell, they can stretch me out on a rack and tickle my feet with feathers”.

have you seen "what's so bad about feeling good?" I'd imagine that's about how Laura would react. She would NOT hold up well. Thinking back, there are a few subtle times Laura was tickled in the DVD show.

The first time I ever heard Millie say that line, I immediately headed to the bathroom to get my rocks off while the sound of her voice saying it was fresh in my memory!

Yep! And that remains one of my all time favorite lines from ANY TV show!

I literally just got done watching the movie, so here: It's 5 times. One quick genuine side squeeze at 45min (by a nightclub patron while she sings). The pregnancy/tickling gag starts at 1:01 where she burst out laughing in the cop car and looking panicked quietly says "The feathers tickle!" again at 1:02 in the lobby of the hospital (personally my favorite due to her laugh being so abrupt and believable) then again at 1:05 when shes about to be examined. She got real squirmy there. And finally at the end we see her smiling, slightly panicking and giggling states "we have to hurry!" and when a cop sees her struggling, calls for maternity. She responds with fear in her eyes at just the threat of it, "oh! not again!" and promptly runs away. At some points its obvious shes just performing and being silly, however, the bird was actually in there and the movement of her stomach very visibly wasn't done only by her hands in her pockets so without being optimistic, I think a few of these were genuine. She was a great actress but Mary's genuine tells were showing.
