I just heard about how O'Leary lied about his resume, and has to quit the Notre Dame job.

What a class one moron.

Why the hell would anyone do that? Like you aren't gonna get busted, it is the freaking head coaching job at Notre Dame!!!!

Please everyone take a lesson from this and if you are ever thinking of doing something incredibly stupid, take a deep breath, and don't do it.

Just say no to stupidity.

i get the feeling that georgia tech was ready for him to leave anyhow..and notre dame still has to pay them the buy out from the clause in the contract. its just a shame we couldnt have still had ralph friegden to promote instead of letting him go to maryland last year. i feel bad for o'leary but it was kind of a bone head thing to do.

I agree with you Slappy it is pretty dumb to lie on your resume when applying to such a well known school as Notre Dame. However as a friend of mine once said "Stupidity knows no boundaries".

I feel for you, but as a Terp fan, a big thanks for Friegden. 😉 "The Fridge", as he is affectionately known, is one hell of a coach, not to mention a class guy. He takes a program that went 5-6 last year, and turns them into a disciplined 10-1 squad that ended up ranked 7th in the nation and with a date to play Florida in the Sugar Bowl. What's most impressive is that the Maryland squad was basically the same as a year ago. No, I think it's obvious to say, we did not see this kind of success coming. Finally, what I really love about Friegden is his enthusiasm for coaching. The man is always upbeat and never comes across as a glory hog. I know I'm gushing, but do you know how many Terp teams have broken my heart the last several years? 😛 Heh. Oh yeah, the O'Leary thing is an embarassment. The man has a lot of work to do to rebuild his reputation.
