Black and white is actually the superior way to see these images. The colored prints are poorly redrawn, not nearly so richly textured or well animated.

Well cycled once again, JTS! Olive definitely is the girl you want for bare toes! Only in '30s cartoons would a gal look natural or attractive with pedal extremities 3 times the size of her head! How on earth does she expect to slip those clompers into the petite shoes alongside her bed, by the way!

I think something similar was done with Betty Boop if I remember correctly, but this definately wasn't the norm. I really wouldn't expect to see something like this from an American cartoon made in that time period.

Now I understand why Popeye and Bluto were always fighting over Olive. A woman with feet that big who really knows how to use her toes! No wonder they were always trying to get her! It took me fifty years to finally figure it out!

Now we need a Popeye cartoon titled "Olive Oyl's Feet"! Maybe even with a foot job in one scene!

Fortunately for her, Olive Oyl's shoes weren't the only things flexible about her. In "King of the Mardi Gras", Bluto is angry because Popeye upstaged his carnival act. He grabs Popeye's assistant Olive, puts her in a "magic" box, then tries to saw her in half. Literally!

Thanks but it's probably best to keep the tickling and the nontickling separated like the forums are set up for. I'll keep looking for more Olive pics, and I hope others will contribute as well.
