Tomorrow is the year anniversary of one of the most devastating tornado outbreaks in my state's history. We lost a lot of people during those storms, and Tuscaloosa is still scared by its wrath.

I'll never forget the fear that went through me. It was a fear that I've never felt before. I could do nothing to stop the carnage. I could only watch in horror as lives were destroyed.

It is one of the only things that have ever brought Alabama and Auburn fans together. Through the tragedy, hope emerged and the good humanity was shown. There are fund raisers still going on today including Bo Jackson's Bike Alabama Fund.

Personally, I have heard numerous stories of what the storm did. I cannot express enough sorrow to those who lost loved ones.

April 27, 2011 will be a day I'll never forget.

A tragic day for the good people of Alabama, and America. I remember watching the news reports. May those who died that day rest in peace, and may the survivors rebuild their shattered lives.

The Atlanta TV stations all had recaps of the #'s of F-4 AND F-5's that came across Alabama and Georgia last April 27. They showed pictures of the monster funnels and of the devastation. They interviewed survivors that had and had not lost loved ones. So many lives changed forever in only a minute or less. The stories of survival, helping friends and strangers, and rebuilding were inspiring. Best wishes to all those that were in the paths.

When we had our last batch of tornadoes 13 years ago, all F1's, I drove around to places where they'd hit, and my jaw dropped. A small house literally torn in half, pavement ripped up on one road (a patch about oh, 25 feet wide across the width of the road), stands of trees crushed or de-limbed. If an F1 can do all that, I don't want to think what an F4 can do. Or what the chances are of another batch of twisters hitting this area given how the weather's gone haywire lately.

My heart goes out to everyone who's ever heard a tornado warning and wondered if they'll be next.
