Greetings, TMFers. 🙂 My following inquiry is directed to those members who've worked with the TMF Radio, though anyone else who may have some insight, please feel free to post suggestions and whatnot.
Some friends and I over at the Tickle Theater have been discussing the possibility of starting something similar to those BlogTalkRadio shows that seemed such a big hit back in '08 while I was active here (and they still are, it seems), but being that I've never done any such thing before, I was hoping to do a bit of research and ask some questions here, as some of you have already been there and done that. Guess I'll break it down using bullet points, as it's super super late here at the moment, and my notorious ultra-long paragraphs would most likely end up jumbled and incoherent...as they usually do, anyway xD
- For those who used BlogTalkRadio, did you use the free version, or premium? The reason I ask is if what I experienced with the TMF's shows was created with the free version, then I'd be completely happy with that and most of the following questions probably won't matter. x) But somehow, I doubt those were streamed from free accounts, and if so...bah, being a poor college student sucks at times. >_<;; Those premium costs look brutal.
- Did the hosts of those shows stream through a program like Skype, or must it have been through the site itself or something? Guess it's always best when you're able to work with what you're familiar with, mm?
- Along with that last question, in whatever version you've used, did the streaming come from one location, or were you able to have multiple hosts from multiple locations? I recall listening to a few shows hosted by...I think it was BrightEyes and LeeAllure, and from what I remember, they were streaming from the same computer, in the same room. I'm wondering if it's even possible with BlogTalk to stream from different places in the world, as the potential hosts of this show we're thinking up are LITERALLY from three different continents entirely. Logistics...such a headache xD
- Besides BlogTalk, does anyone know of other, perhaps simpler sites that offer the same sort of service, that fit the above criteria? It's a complicated thing because...well, we're poor, so anything with the word "FREE" in front of it is our best friends in general. 😛 Also our little project probably won't explode to the degree as can be seen here at this forum, as we'll probably only get a small live audience, and aren't really concerned about the bells and whistles any more than the ability to do this with our current situation. Since I'm fairly sure you all had quite the adventure comparing and contrasting different potential sites, I was wondering if you could offer a bit of insight on that.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this. 🙂
