I think it is silly that the moderators arbitrarily get to delete posts that doesn't jive with their method of thinking.
Open forum, my arse.
Why not call it the "Tickling Media Internment Camp?"

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

The post removed was a continuation of a topic that had been deemed closed and locked in another thread. When we close discussion by locking of a topic on a thread, we remove any reapearences of said topic that do not present any new additions to the topic. Thats why it was removed.

It's not an open forum by the way. It's a MODERATED forum. That means that posts can and will be removed based on the instructions that I provide my moderators. Having your thoughts possibly edited or removed is part of the deal of posting here.

Well

You will learn in time, As I have, to respect the rules here. It's for the best, trust me. 😎

Not trying to shine-up to anybody, but I believe that the THIRD SENTENCE I received from my welcome message specifically stated that censorship does exist on this forum.

This isn't exactly a case of the old meany-pants moderators pulling their power without warning.

I wanted so very badly to add some right-wing conservative comments to a certain recent thread which I perceived was providing weight to arguments that will lead to the demise of the TMF.

No one ever read those comments because I felt that the mods have a certain political bend and attitude; and it isn't as conservative as my own.

So I didn't offer them, and they weren't deleted by moderator's force.

Neither the moderators nor I particularly like this, (see ? It works both ways) but without that moderator force and power, there will be no TMF.

I truly feel for you. I've had my on-line comments censored by other moderators on other boards. It is supremely irritating.

I do have another option, though, and that is to pay my own money, buy my own software, (and pay for my own server space and bandwidth and who-knows-what-else comes up in internet businesses) and start the P50_Media_Forum with the precise flavor and character I want.

Oh yeah, I forgot that I'll also have to do all the work along with paying all the money.

Indeed, in the past two weeks I've seen two other groups of people who have done exactly that. (They even appear to be using similar site software.)

In this context, where I am a total and complete freeloader, how many rights are you suggesting I be ascribed ?

P50, post your comments....

P50, post those comments that you were going to, to that rceent thread. It's a viewpoint, all viewpoints are welcome. This America, we have free speech of dissent and thought. I think we pretty much have it here also.

Now that you said you had a comment, you got me curious. What is it! (I hate it when someone says, "I have to tell you something...no, I can't! No, I better not!" arrrghhhhh!)

Look, there's a difference between flames and dissent.

Maybe the moderators should define what freedoms we have here.

This is the way I see it, because it is the way of America, which we are in:

You can post opposing viewpoints, but not insults. I am a Republican, and a fairly conservative one at that, P50. On the social side, I say I'm liberal, but that's false, I'm an American, -basically, freedom. (I think gays should have equal rights and freedom from persecution, and be allowed to marry. But I just don't want to hear about their lifestyle ever three minutes - keep it in the bedroom, or on the internet forums. don't go around obsessed with making everyone accept the tickling lifestyle, or heterosexual one. If they're gay, fine. Be happy, but calm down.)

Now, flames and insults are a different story. I have finally become able to access the newgroups, but I need a link from the net (weird). I can't access alt.multimedia.tk, but I got into the other ones. My God, the spam! There were 400 messages, zero videos, sounds, or pictures. There were messages claiming to be about tickling, but you were directed to porn ads. Sigh! The same ones, over and over and over again.

That's why they don't let people post the smae message to every area of the forum. They don't allow insults here, either, because everyone starts answering the flamer, who flames some more, and the forum degrades into anarchy. After a few months, people will realize we aren't even talking about tickling anymore!

I don't know about critique to video companies and such, they'll have to define that. Many here have complained about video companies, and our posts weren't removed. It can't become a hate fest, but if there is a legitimate complaint, it looks like it stays. I would hope they would want to hear from us, since many of us buy their videos. (I have bought 1 Magic Touch, about 12 Real Tickling, and am soon to buy more, when I start my job) I posted a complaint about Stacy'sPlace.com, and it stayed. I subscribed, but they never gave me a password or username, just a messed up HTML screen. I mailed them three times, and was polite, and was ignored every time. I posted a complaint here, and lo and behold, 6 or 7 other people replied to it and siad they were jipped also. That is why I love this place, so that if there is a scam going on, or a problem, we can discuss it.

Now, the post from that crazy guy complaining about Magic Touch, where he couldn't get in for 10 minutes, then was offered a free month subscription! yet still came here and to the newsgroups, and was bitching and complianing, that was over the line. But even THAT was not removed!

The political bent of the mods runs the gamut from traditional to progressive views. What we all share is a desire to see opinion expressed within the guidelines of the forum. Where you may perceive conservative opinion as being censored, it's actually flamebait language used to express that opinion that's been edited. Liberals who do likewise get the same kind of edits.

BTW, I have long practiced P50's habit of not posting my opinions because I feel the membership has a certain political bend and attitude; and it isn't as liberal as my own. And I don't want to upset people or be accused of mod oppression - about as much fun as having your post edited.

I delete about half of my own posts. I delete them before I even post them. I decide for some reason or other that it's just not worth the hassle, and I shrug and move on to the things that interest me. Here, though, I disagree with the implication that posts are deleted simply for expressing conservative views. The forum itself is evidence that all kinds of views are posted here.

Freedom of Speech in a private setting

I always chuckle when I see people invoke the 1st amendment to private situations. As I remember, the amendment starts "Congress shall make no law..". Censorship is commonplace in newspaper editing rooms, private homes, businesses and churches. The vague general idea that you should be able to say whatever you want whenever you want is a tired one. Spend 20 minutes with a group of so called adults yelling at each other and you will know what I mean.

Here we go again!

I find it rather amusing that someone who is supposedly new to the Forum can drop in here and start blasting the Forum and the Moderators. But then it could be a person registering under a different name. We've seen that so many times.

We have this Forum and the Moderators spend a good amount of their own personal time keeping this Forum as flame-free as possible. The Mods are not able to delete a post on their own, the post goes into a separate area for all the mods to view and determine if it should be posted or not. So posts are not able to be deleted on the whim of one Mod anymore.

I always thought it better to be nice when you meet people the first time. If you're invited to their house, you play by their rules. If you come into this Forum, you play by the rules here. I try to. I'm not always successful but I try.

We're all free to come in here if we play by the rules. Keep it Flame Free, Play Nice, Hold hands when crossing the street, Don't hit... you know... all those things we learned in Kindergarten. Then there's the Golden Rule. They all apply here as well.

Now.... time for recess!

LOL.....nice post Jan.

I, for one, am glad that this is a moderated forum! It's the lack of moderations and freedom to spew out as much crap as you like that keeps me out of AMT and places like it. Though there are people who I don't care for and would love to publicly blast out of the water, I try to behave myself and keep my big mouth shut. There are topics I would enjoy discussing, but choose not to because discussions of those topics often turn hostile. There are comments I'd like to respond to in the anger I feel when reading them. But, I don't. Why? Because, it's better for the community. Posts have and always will be subject to editting and removal. Why? Because, it's better for the community!

Mod "leanings"..

Basically I would be one of the Mods that lean "right"..lol..although I've seen myself bashed from both extremes...kinda funny really. I'm a Conservative if you mean politically only, but I take 'em one issue at a time, and yup, I DO come down onto what many would consider the "liberal" side of some issues. Guess we need either more or less labels out here! 😉 Q

(begin sarcasm)

I'm glad we finally have a post about this subject. Everything that has been said here has never been said before in another thread almost every week. Glad to see such a fresh look at things. Everybody is ususlly so hush-hush about the idea of this being a moderated forum. I'm glad someone is finally coming out to question authority. I may be alone, but I think it's about time that someone discussed the Kujman tapes.

(end sarcasm)

If I were a mod here, I'd have a text file with a response to these threads for fear of catching carpal tunnel syndrome by repeatedly typing the same responses to the same issue.

Come on guys and gals! Let's get back to what brings us together!!!

Uncle Steve 🙂

Yo Mo!

With Any forum, there has to be some moderation or else they will turn into what AMT has become. An internet clearing brawl of words, flames and lies! They have to be kept on a leash however here, the leash is long enough for comfort while keeping things civil, to a degree. There are always cracks for some things to fall through but the moderators have InternetQuikCreet to fill them in!

Don't be too hard on them. There are alot of dogs in the pound here!
😉

Evilqueen, post your opinions! Who cares what direction they lean. And this is from someone who is a conservative Republican! I believe that the free flow of opinions and knowledge make any group and/or society stronger, smarter, better, and more advanced. If views are stifled, if the light is hidden under baskets, as the Bible states (if you want to get religious..) one side wins out unfairly. Usually the wrong side. Where all viewpoints are presented, the ones that make the most sense win out, however, the views that matter to those interested are not wasted.

Let me give an example. I like pantyhose feet. Many here like bare feet. If those who like bare feet shut the pantyhose foot lovers out, well, that sucks. The direction of the forum is limited and can only go in one direction. But if we both offer sides, both sides will come out smarter and more tolerant, though still holding their own likes. I can say that I like pantyhose because it looks really professional, because professional women wear them, so there's that whole power thing maybe, or some undescribable part that I can't voice. It almost perfects the foot, maybe, the hose hides any blemishes. Then someone else comes by and voices it for me. Yes, we're advancing, new views are being heard and a better understanding is being reached. Then the barefooters state their reasons. They say they want nothing between the foot and the wiggling fingers are brushing feather. Now we can understand each other. I can see their viewpoint, and they can see mine. I haven't changed my mind, but I can now see their viewpoint. Maybe some people will change their minds.

I don't know, maybe I don't mind having people disagree with me. Maybe I'm unique in that way. I hate being insulted or flamed, just like anyone else. But I want to hear other veiwpoints. Everyone I admire, Andy Rooney, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Tony Snow, these guys all say things that I agree with, and they say things I disagree with. But lots of times, they explain why they believe the way they do, and I come out smarter, because I undrestand their side.

You've disagreed with me a few times, Evilqueen, but I was never angry. When people disagree with me in an intelligent way, or when they agree with me, but for a reason different than the one I offer, my mind is fired up, it's great! Better than sitting in a group of a bunch of yes men, or watching a talk show where everyone's screaming at everyone else, and no one can be heard. So Evilqueen, post your opinions. P50, post yours to. That goes for everyone else. But we're all adults here. Being civil and intelligent is not too much to ask.

I tend to be a bit more outspoken in my beliefs, Mod or not. But there are still times that I hold my tongue because of possible conflicts of interest. As for "coming down to Earth", I'd have to shrug and wonder what to come down from. We all volunteer our time, don't make a dime from any of this and open ourselves to all kinds of reactions...from disagreement to open debasement...all because we like to see things running smoothly.

Freedom of speech is never absolute. Anywhere. In any context. Just walk down the street and yell that you're going to assasinate a senator. Find out what can be legally and constitutionally done with you...even if you were just kidding.

And then there's the moral issue. Civilised people live within the boundaries of rules and regulations, some more extreme or unfair...some liberal and loose; they are always there. A person who tries to find any way to complain about these and subvert them just for the sake of doing it has to take a long hard look in the mirror and wonder why these rules need to be around in the first place.

moderation..

You want to see what happens when something isin't moderated? Just go to any of the tickling newsgroups. They have turned into porn and flame-filled trash bins anymore. I stopped going to them a long time ago. I may not totally agree with all the rules here, but I'm thankful that there are rules in place or this forum would become just like the newsgroups! By the way moderators, thanks for giving up your time to do this for the rest of us. You are appreciated!😉

Ditto on that! I'm thankful that this forum is the first interactive place I encountered and that I didn't have to waste my time elsewhere.

Sorry Senator

For the last time, Cheers.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Ann. I have views that are cross party, with Reps areeing with me on one thing, and Dems agreeing with me on others. All in all if I was a voter I'd be confused as hell as to who to vote for.

why worry, BigJim?

Why worry BigJim? I proposed the creation of a tickling secret society (actually, I said we already ARE a tickling secret society...) If the Illuminati agent ever comes after you, assuming it's an extremely beautiful woman, you could tickle her into surrender! (Of course, if the Illuminati IS real, it will be mean guys who will shoot you. But you could always hope it will be a beautiful secret illuminati agent who is very ticklish....)

Actually, let's delve into reality. The illuminati being real would probably be good, because it would be a tangible group to be defeated. There are two political parties because they have a lot of money, and only a rich person would be able to afford to make a third one. Third parties are usually silly, or have weird issues that aren't mainstream. They want to legalize pot, or something. They're big on the enviroment. Democrats and Republicans have been around for so long, they have stands on every issues possible. I am a Republican,. but I don't mind seeing Democrats in power, rather than an independant party who holds only certain ideas. Two, people are lazy. They join either party, because they won't take the time to learn about independants. They don't take the time to learn about their OWN party.

I mean, if an indepandant party wins, lets say the "Party for the legalization of Pot," or something along those lines,. How will the candidate deal with the leader of Brazil? (hey dude, what's up! whoaaahhhhh! I seez, like, things, and ...like.... uhh.....) Just kidding! But lets say he's sober, he doesn't do drugs, but he has a stand that's for that. He wins. What will he do about inflation? About the military? About terrorism? About the Capital Gains tax? He doesn't have a clue, because all he cares about is legalizing pot! That's why these people vote only by where a candidate stands on abortion are idiots. (I know a LOT, a LOTTTTT of people who vote on that one issues ONLY. He could be a dictator, but if is pro or anti abortion, he will get certain votes.)

The Democrats and Republicans will know what to do when all the complex issues arise. They may be wrong, but they won't sit at their desk and ask, "Now what? What the hell is the Capital gains tax? ...Hell, I never knew we had a "Coast Guard!"

Just a thought (or two).😛

The TMF being moderated is the main reason there are such things as "regulars" or "participants" or "contributors." As repeated a billion and one times, check out unmoderated forums and compare. I doubt those run by a single person and are considered "open" are showing you the nasty emails they get that criticize, so why bother comparing?

The utility of the TMF is that it provides space for participation. Aside from the videos, which is a superb advertising idea, there is more content given by users than there is by the one who foots the bill. If being a moderated website were such a bad thing, that would cease to happen. People will not consistently contribute to something they find offesive. I find the minority that argue that point to be utterly confusing. The fringe element that might serve a purpose in creative endeavors is detrimental to a working system, like the TMF. What exactly are they wanting to share so badly that they refuse to acknowledge the benefits of a moderated site? I just don't dig it. (Might I also just nod in agreement with those who have pointed out that this is a free "moocher-welcome" site, so nobody should be bitching to begin with other than MTP. LOL)

I think everyone here has probably pissed off another member, said something they regret, been rude, or acted out of emotion before giving logic a chance (here and in the chatroom). Each of us is human, so those things that get trough the cracks of the moderators' walls of defense are usually thought of as keeping the human element alive here. SO, pointing fingers at those times that something "should have been" deleted and wasn't....well, that simply isn't very productive now is it?

I know that I'm one of those flighty types that has opinions that change with the wind...and oftentimes I can argue with myself, so a place like the TMF is actually perfect for me! *giggle*

Ah, well..just been wanting to say all that for a while. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

The topic ongoing in this thread has nothing to do with the origional threads topic, or the forum that it happens to be in. Perhaps you two can take it to a more correct venue?

Myriads

JoBelle is 100% right on target. (Even though your opinions change in the wind, they are correct opinions!🙂)

The flamers will always want to spew their hatred, so this topic will be discussed again....and again...and again. Trust me. Aside from not swearing like a rock star or sending threats to each other, we basically have free reign to talk about anything, even criticise. These complainers want absolute total free reign to rain on all the fun and have control of the forum. They want to be the absolute center of attention, and have everyone acknowledge their rants in every post and thread. They want all the control, just like every other evil person who ever existed. Since those ways will be deleted by the moderators, they will never be happy. But, they are the fringe, like JoBelle said. They will find some other avenue to spew at, and then when they are gone, we can talk about tickling and the wonderful laughter associated with it to our hearts content, and they...well, can go piss off people elsewhere.

Now, HERE'S the catch - how can we reach those people that will be attacked at those other places, and offer them safe haven here, so they can join us in tickling and laughing, while the flamers scream at each other? Hmmm, that can be the topic of another thread.....

...someone else start that one....I'm feeling like a bike - I'm too tired.....
