Ostracized due to fetish?

I understand that many people including myself( to an extent) are afraid of revealing their fetish to those that are close to them. Has anyone ever had any bad experiences after someone found out about your tickling/foot fetish? Has anyone had any good expereinces after telling a close friend about their fetish.
I'll start.
Whenever i'm drunk I tend to tell girls that i'm hitting on or even guy friends that i love to tickle and or have a thing for feet. Usually the girl either says she loves tickling or hates it..and when it comes to feet..she usually says alot of guys do...or she asks why. Whenever she asks why..i just reply with "I'm REALLY picky so when i'm attracted to a woman everything has to be NICE" and that usually elicits a giggle and everything is cool. Whenever I tell my boys..they just laugh at me..which is cool because I love laughing at myself. Once a friend of mine thought he could embarass me by telling a group of girls about my fetish..i was actually cool with it because it would be a funny icebreaker..and i could see which girls thought it was funny and which ones thought it was cool. My optimism about the scenario however turned my friend off.
