As you've seen on the "Tickling Awareness Month" thread, we've been discussing what our community's symbol should be. We've got a few ideas and we need -You- to vote.

Thanks for starting the poll AcornaMordor, but I think we've jumped into this too fast. I like the idea of feather pendants, but I didn't want to limit everybody with the feather symbol esp. since not everyone is into feather tickling. Also I didn't want to limit what people wear (so if you want to wear a pendant -great, and if you want to wear a tattoo (or whatever) that's great too). What we need is a poll on the symbol or logo, which means we need more ideas and drawings. Once a logo is made we could put it on anything...coffee mugs, jewelry, etc.

I kicked around this idea a while back, of having some sort of symbol that could be inverted to show your preference. I think it's a fantastic idea, personally. So I voted option #1 but I am not married to that exact symbol. 🙂

I don't understand very well, what's purpose of that symbol, is it a symbol for to use on our bodies?, is it a symbol valid only in tickle theater, such as an icon?. Please, can somebody explains it better?. Thanks you.

I believe they mean a symbol for us to wear in the real world to identify a stranger as being just strange a.k.a, one of us 🙂 . So if I'm walking down the street and see someone wearing our symbol then I know he/she is into tickling. By the way, I love the idea however I'm not too keen on wearing a feather pendent or an orange ribbon all the time. I'm sure there is a more subtle original way to get our message across, I just can't think of one 😛 .

thanx for posting the pole! i hope we can all find something we like!!

yeah we should probably pick something not so fru fru.. maybe some celtic or tribal design... or like.. a handprint.. or something.. I dunno...

Well, maybe my vote doesn't really count, because i live in Venezuela, some far from you. But, if i have a good idea, then i'll surely post it. Good luck, on your goal.

O.K. I'm adding to the other options. What about a swirl? (see attached) It could be a tiny pin, cufflinks, or whatever. I guess a color theme would denote lee/ler/both. Or does some other group already use this?

Allow me to toss in my two cents. Once I found this thread I decided to start screwing around in Photoshop. I didn't want to do anything complicated, and incorporated both the color orange and the swirl (kinda), and I added identification for ler/lee/both (See attatchments).

EDIT: Also added the "symbol" for just tickle, no preference (i.e. no added lines).

nice work! i like the idea of staying with the color orange. anyone else want to show there ideas?

After thinking about it for a couple of days, I would conclude that the feather is the most universally understood -- yet safely ambivalent -- symbol of tickling in general, and would therfore be the best choice of those listed. I like the idea of an American Indian theme to provide additional camoflauge as well 🙂

Historical note: a pre-Internet ticklephile organsation, based in Texas, was called "Feathermates." 🙂

Love to all,

I think the most difficult is not to find or create a symbol but to introduce it into all the tickling community.
So, we should submit the idea to the moderators of this site and all the famous sites about tickling.

I find these 4 draws are fun, and I like the color too.

Kiet,

A symbol... hmm... the most sexiest idea would be a feather slightly touching the center of the sole of the foot (a big feather) ... that'd be sexy

we're going for subtle here. Subtle meaning that if they (Being the general media and non-ticklephiles) saw it in public, it wouldn't really draw their attention or their curiosity. That'd be a dead give-away. But hey, if you want to "express" yourself to that extent, go right ahead....

Maybe a celtic symbol, like the Triskelle. It's decorative and not too fru-fru and can be passed off for common jewelry as nobody is going to question your knowledge of a celtic symbol...

I personally like Luv2TKGirls' idea. I mean, its not too obvious, not too "fru-fru"(lol) and it could be recognized. That being said, I think we should really make it a necklace or braclet, or perhaps an anklet (I love to see those on girls), you know, something that could be worn anywhere, like the beach or a waterpark. Now I'm not saying that it has to be one of those, but making it a pin exclusively would be a little silly in the summer, seeing as how your not always gonna be wearing something that you can put a pin on. As for where to get these, I've done a little research, and Sears does custom pendants and such, so anyone can print out the design, go to Sears and have it made. That way it wouldn't be a hassle for people with less cash than others(me). just wanted to post my opinion on the subject.

P.S. I have to agree with Kalamos and AcornaMordor on the whole, sole/feather thing, you might as well go around yelling,"I LOVE TICKLING!!" lol

To be true, I am ambivalent towards the symbol idea.

It has a "secret fraternity" feeling that I don't quite appreciate - and besides, it doesn't belong to my culture or personal taste either... 😀

I don't like labels of any kind. 🙂

This said, I don't completely dislike the idea of a Tk symbol - as long as it is subtle enough.

While I wouldn't wear one myself [I tend to lose things!] it would be nice to see it around.

*Get to the point for goodness's sake!*

Okok... I have an idea brewing up in my head. I'd be against celtic-like runes. Already said why.

A quill in a circle would be a viable compromise. I know not everybody likes feathers, but I can't think of anything as readily recognizable yet mainstream.

Problem is, it is TOO mainstream and confusion might arise. So, I'm posting an idea of mine soon.

EDIT 01

A beta version of the symbol is now my avatar. Please, let me know your opinion about it.

EDIT 02

I've just seen I shared Luv2TKGirls's idea without realizing it. 🙂

I had done mine without seeing his own before, but we envisioned something quite similar. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Reg's.

Great minds think alike. 🙂

I do like yours, though. And I can tell it took longer than my 5 minutes in Photoshop.

Actually not that much, just a QUICK job with Paint Shop Pro. 🙂

But the idea is good. And I'm not saying that just because I had it too! 😀 😀 😀

Notice the creamy line is actually a female silouette.

But I'm sure we could agree on colours and further details.

Personally I've thrown in the light blue just to hint the sky - it never hurts - and the female outline since, well, I prefer women, and it is less conspicuous than, say, a feet [and besides, it could pass as a beach, or a shore line too.]

I'll be retouching it soon. This is just a rough, to hear from you if I/we are going the right way.

EDIT

I've just retouched it, so, let me know.

🙂

This started out simple but I think I got a bit more elaborate than I had intended to. Anyway, it's my idea. I made 3 little pendants. One for 'lers, one for 'lees, and one for us switchers. Lemme know what you think please!

Edit: of course I just had a better idea...
instead of having two different pendants for 'lers and 'lees the chain hole could just be moved to a little thing on the back, one on either end, so that it could be one or the other. This would also mean you could switch designations when the mood strikes you. 😛

I'm pretty new on this board and no artist, so I don't know how much my
opion is worth.

I like the feather idea (and voted for it ) instead of inverting the feather,
how bout a color/ patern background.
I also like the idea of 4 paterns, ler, lee, swich, undeclared. It should
cover everyone, even thoes who don't like to be labled.

Well, that is my two cents.
