I couldn't believe this when it happened yesterday.. A first for me.
I was standing in a line at a mall event and in right front of me was a gorgeous blonde woman of about 35-38 waiting with a group of people.
Anyway, my ears pricked up when someone in the group must have asked this woman, "Why are people ticklish?"
The woman tried a quickie answer - "Oh, there are nerve endings in your skin, and when someone touches them, it tickles."
Someone must have asked her to elaborate, because the yummy mummy launched into a monologue that left me shaking. I couldn't help but gaze at her gorgeous tanned feet with bright pink toes nestled in pink flip flops as she slowly blew my mind:
"Well, your body has millions of nerve endings, and they all react differently to different ways of being touched. When someone tickles you, they use a really light touch that brushes the nerve endings very gently. This causes the tickly feeling, but not all parts of your body are ticklish, because some parts of your body have more nerve endings than others. I'm most ticklish on my sides, under my arms and the bottoms of my feet. I think the bottoms of my feet are the most ticklish on me. When I get pedicures, the girl uses a file on the bottoms of my feet, and I sit there and grab the arms of the chair really hard so I don't start laughing.
But, in the old days, people used to torture other people by tickling. It was horrible. If you were a criminal, they would sometimes tie you down to a table and tickle you and tickle you until you almost died laughing. I know I would die (she laughs at this point)
You know, when I was younger, my friends and I would have these contests, foot tickle contests. You and another girl would take your shoes off, and sit facing each other and put our feet in each others laps. Then we'd tickle each other until one of us laughed or pulled out feet away. It was fun! I'm very ticklish, but I'm also an awesome tickler (Laughs again)
That was the end of the conversation, but as you can imagine, I remembered damn near every word!!
Oh, and in case you were curious what her feet looked like, I'm dead serious, they looked very similar to this..
