What songs are you sick of hearing? and what songs aren't you hearing enough of?

🙂 😎 😀

For me, it's more the styles of song that I'd like to hear less/more of rather than any particular one. I don't care for most rap or hard rock. But, I'd like to hear more oldies (50s-60s) and older music and show tunes. There's only one oldies station near me. They do the 50s and 60s stuff. But, they've started including later stuff as well. I have yet to find anything other than the occassional Sunday morning show that plays any show or big band stuff. I just need to start my own station! lol

"Under the Boardwalk" (Drifters?) is played too much.
And anything by Stevie Wonder is played too much, he never could carry a tune.

I dont listen to the radio, it sucks. Our top 40 station only plays 11-15 songs, plus I like rap and hiphop and none of the stations will play any of it because they're afraid of the uprising of the old people eh, more accuratly, the uptight people

Lime, you're not kidding? All the stations near me will play is rap, rap, rap. Oh, and hip hop too. It gets SOOOOOOO annoying especially since they only play the same five songs or so over, and over again the entire day.

HA!!..........Where do I begin??

"Hotel California" -The Eagles
"Take It Easy" -The Eagles
"Long Train Running" -Doobie Brothers
"Listen To The Music" -Doobie Brothers
"Old Time Rock n Roll" Bob Seger
"China Grove" -Doobie Brothers
"Take It To The Limit" -The Eagles
"The Joker" -Steve Miller

Yes, there is a pattern here, but these 8 songs seem to show up on SO many different radio stations.

Well, as an old person I would just like to say DAMN RIGHT!

BTW: I know several of them old guys just settin' and rockin' on the porch of our general store. After the dust settles from them young kids zippin' down the dirt highway out front, all they bitch about is that rap music we hear as the car recedes into the disance. *work my toothless gums back and forth and raise my right fist, shaking with palsy and age* That damn bass is loud enough to bust the windas outa the out-house! And an out-house without windas is a bitch in the rain, not to mention the winter! I don't think none of them ol' coots felt anything risin' from listenin' to that music... 'sept maybe their blood pressure! Anyhow, I know it didn't turn 'em on enough for no uprisin'! *walk off mumbling under my breath* Damn whippersnappers!

Why'd you think I given up listening to the radio? All I hear is manufactured shit all the time, as well as prima-donna black wannabes with souless tunes.

Don't rip Stevie Wonder. His songs are classics.

As far as dissing Stevie Wonder......

STEVIE WONDER IS A MUSICAL GENIUS, I HAVE ALL HIS ALBUMS!!!
I GOT "MUSIC ON MY MIND", I GOT Mo*F**G "TALKING BOOK", I GOT "FULLFI..", "FULLFIS", OH, YOU KNOW,THE GOOD ONE!!!!
DON'T NEVER LET ME YOU HEAR YOU TALK ABOUT STEVIE WONDER, AGAIN!!
EVER!!!!!!

Thank You

Drew😛

I'm with you Drew, I love Stevie!!

As far as music played to much, I must say the top 40 stations near me. I listen to it on my way to and from just because it has good traffic reports often, other then that I rather go to the classic rock station or sometimes I go to my classic disco station!!

'If I had a million dollars...' I'd pay to have that song completely removed from existence, as though they'd never even formed a band much less written the song, maybe even to the point of never having any of them born in the first place.

Any new song that comes out is played to DEATH! Seems as
if the rotation runs about every half hour and,as for the
classic songs, all they play are the same ones. There are
plenty of songs on an album <-- showing age, huh?...ehem,
CD that are just as good or better then the same old ones.

Anyone see the interview with David Lee Roth? Best and most
honest statement from a performer. Asked why he only put 4
songs on his album. He pretty much said, most albums only HAVE
3-4 good songs and the rest are fillers anyway, so why not not
just give the fans what they want. Even tho he is a cocky son-
of-a-bitch you have to admire his honesty.

I'm with the others here, Stevie Wonder is great

You're right. And I'm not bashing Rap or Hip Hop. To each his/her own. But, I just want some variety. Is that too much to ask?

They played "Sussusdio" so ding-dang much in my area in the 1980s that to this day I can't listen to it.

Leave us not forget:

The DAMN Celine Dion "Titantic" song
"Iiiyiiyiii Will Always Love You" -Whitney Houston
"Candle in the Wind"(Princess Diana version) -Elton John

These 3 songs were respondsible for more people tearing their own ears off!

Special mention to "That Don't Impress Me" from Shania Twain, which is just obnoxious.

EWWWWWWW you said "Titanic" !!!

Titanic annoyance!! It could have been a decent song but definitely overplayed!

I personaly think that anything made after 1988 with the acception of a few albums and songs from artists that had been around makes me wanna tear my ears off and just go on a rampage!! LOL That sums it all up in my oppinion..begining with those damn New Kids On The Block then Backstreet Boys, Britney, eeeeeeeeeeek!!!! and of corse..hip hop and modern rap from 1990 - present.

Back in 1995 when I was working as a sotreman at an army camp near Reading, the song Wonderwall by Oasis was played on local radio every third song. BLARGH!!!!

Delirious Lives On!!!!!!!!!!!

I work at home and never listen to the radio. But my hubby works in a QC lab where it's on all the time. So when we eventually drive somewhere together, some song I've rarely heard will play and I wanna turn it up, but my poor man has heard it a kabillion times and just the title makes his colon clench. Currently it's "Bring me to life" by Evan Essence, I love it but my hubby goes fetal 😱 .

When we drove the 16 + hours moving to Ohio from Vermont back in '98, the tape deck was broken. We heard 'Closing Time' so many times that we STILL get nervous tics every time we hear it...
