Just wonderin if anyone went to Ozzfest this year since i know we got some metal heads here
I went to the one at the tweeter in chicago(sadly i didnt go to alpine valley)
1 word, amazing. I went for maiden mainly but it did intro me to alot of bands ive heard of but never given the time to really listen to. I also receieved the worst sunburn on my scalp in my life, the payment i give to the metal gods for being in blistering sun from 8 am till 11 pm, thank god it was cooler than 2 weeks ago or i woulda been dead
Gizmachi-didnt see
soilwork-sadly didnt see
it dies today-didnt see
Arch enemy-ROCKED, i knew of them before but seein em live was amazing, plus somethin sexy about a screaching and screaming gal on vocals
trivium-pretty good, i had heard of them before but never checked them out, made me a fan
black dahlia murder-wasnt a fan of them, so i left the crowd
The haunted-best band i never heard of at all before, amazing music and show
Bury your dead-ugh..next
wicked wisdom-THE WORST! Jada pinkett smiths band.....all they were was amps on max volume so all you heard was a piecing distortion and maybe you could hear a slight vocal...this was trash and almost ruined the event
a dozen furies-i was never a fan of them, but they were listenable, esp after the last band
mastodan-pretty rocking, they had an awesome backrgound and a real power band
as i lay dying-weak
killswitch engage-runner up for best on second stage, got the crowd insane and just tore it up. Guitarist was in daisey dukes and a cape
Rob zombie-king of second stage, best stage performange on stage 2 and the crowd went insane for it(i also saw A boob, not boobs, A boob)
Main stage
Inflames-I missed all but 2 songs because they scheduled them 5 mins after zombie left and its a bottleneck to get to the lawn, plus i was dissapointed how they played none of their early stuff, like the clayman cd
Black label society-typical BLS, i missed em cuz i was in line for water
shadows fall-kick ass, only downside was sun was blinding so hard to get into the music
mudvayne-same as shadows, amazing music and kick ass stage but the sun prevented maximum enjoyment
Maiden-band i came to see and was not dissapointed, Bruce was the most energetic and played to the crowd most than any of the other performers. Played almost all their stuff off the first four albums and only band to do an encore. Bruce went off also on a tangent on how he hates music being owned by corporations. I deja vu'd the entire show, maybe cuz ive wanted to see them so long but maiden played was all deja vu for me
Sabbath-Pretty good but a semi let down, great guitar from iommi naturally but it was short and ozzy seemed sorta mad the crowd was out of it. He didnt even give a speech for it being 10 years of ozzfest and possibly the final ozzfest ever. No encore either, shocking
Overall, kick ass show, plus gotta admit, some of the hottest gals i seen in one place
