The Good Guys embarked on a nine game California road trip. After losing two of three in San Fran, they won two of three in both San Diego and Los Angeles. They returned home on a Sunday evening to begin a homestand that Tuesday against the Expos, Phillies, and Reds. That week, the team would welcome a very special guest. Superstar actress Charlize Theron, who knew some of the team from their careers as actors, was visiting the Bahamas for a week with her boyfriend, and, as part of her vacation, planned to spend time shopping and relaxing with her friends on the team, and taking in the Good Guys games on the homestand. Monday was an off day for the team, so Charlize appeared at Mitch and Naomi's apartment late that morning to spend the day with her friends Naomi, Mandy Moore, and Kate Hudson.: "I'm going to take Nai shopping and wear out her credit cards, us alien actresses have to stick together, Mitchy": Charlize said with a laugh. "Nai earns her own living, what she spends isnt my business. As long as we dont get into trouble, I dont care what clothes or posessions my wife buys" Mitch said. That day, the three pitchers of the Good Guys and their guest went on a grand shopping tour, and that night Charlize joined her friends for a fancy dinner.
The following night, with Charlize and 27,000 others in the stands rooting the Good Guys on, the team opened a homestand against Montreal. Kate Hudson gave a solid effort on a very humid evening, pitching six strong innings and allowing but two runs, in an eventual 6-4 Good Guy win. Gil Bellows made the start on Wednesday afternoon, and pitched very well, allowing but one run into the seventh, as Mitch hit a homerun, in a 3-1 Paradise victory. The team could not sweep the series, however. Neve Campbell went to the hill on Thursday evening, and allowed four runs over six innings. The Good Guys tried to rally from a 4-0 deficit in the ninth, but fell just short, leaving the tying run at 3rd base in a 4-3 loss.
Philadelphia came to town on Friday night, and Jennifer Love Hewitt came up big, allowing only one run through six innings, in a 4-1 Good Guy triumph. The fifth starter went to the hill on Saturday night in front of a packed house, but it was to no avail, as the Good Guys trailed 6-0 in the 3rd en route to a 6-3 defeat, as the fifth starter left to a chorus of boos. Things were better for the team on Sunday afternoon. With Kate Hudson on the hill, the team hit four homeruns in a 7-4 win.
The Reds arrived in Paradise on Monday to finish the homestand. Gil Bellows went to the mound on Monday night, and gave another good effort, allowing but two runs into the eighth inning, in a 4-2 Good Guy triumph. Neve Campbell went to the hill on Tuesday. The Good Guys and Reds played a wild game that night, with Paradise rallying from a 6-0 deficit, as Neve got clobbered by the Reds, to eventually win the game on a homerun by Mitch in the 11th, by an 8-6 score. Jennifer Love Hewitt capped the homestand on Wednesday. The team's bullpen was exhausted following the wild extra inning game the previous night, and needed a big effort from Hewitt. In front of almost 40,000 sundrenched fans, Hewitt came up huge, pitching eight innings, and allowing only two hits, and but one run, in an eventual 2-1 Good Guys win. The team left for their road trip having had another good homestand, and things were going really well.
On Saturday night, the team held it's weekly tickle party at the fetish club. The featured lee, not surprisingly, was their visiting friend Charlize Theron. It was not the typical Good Guy situation though, where the lee just willingly stripped and submitted to the tickle. The team knew that Charlize was extremely ticklish and hated to be tickled, but they continually worked on her until they wore her down.
