i didn't get Bruce Springsteen at all...to me he sounded like someone straining for a bowel movement...

and Pink Flloyd..am i missing something, or were they trying too hard to get a deep message out??? maybe i needed to listen to the entire concept albums of theirs but frankly i cannot stand listening to them for too long..the only song i really like from them was Money...and my hard hard rock station insists on playing them...also plays Van Halen..which is a tad better..and Aerosmith, hard rock? hmm they do play Rush..which i love...and Black Sabbath...

and Elvis Presley..he never even wrote his own songs..

I don't kid myself. I listen to rock and roll for the sound, not the lyrics. If I want meaning, I listen to not rock and roll.

I agree on Springsteen, he was totally overrated. Pink Floyd is deep into the concept stuff. I generally enjoy their stuff. Rush is great I agree. I would put them with Styx they both have a similar sound.

The Doors was a group which I couldn't stand. Tolerable singers, but I just wasn't into their style.

Bob Dylan I never really understood the love of him. I mean yeah, he's good if you're into the earthy crunchy stuff but he is not a singer, more just a creation by people who wanted to elevate him.

Another of that era who's voice just grates on nerves is Janice Joplin. Ugh!

As for Elvis, he was not a writer but he knew how to deliver the song. He was a very good performer. The whole Elvis stage show really put him on the map.

I've often heard that Pink Floyd can only be fully enjoyed if the listener is stoned, but I have not tried to test that theory 😀

mmm sounds good to me hehe....

and i do not get Steve Miller...yuck...or the Eagles...sorry i know don't hit me lol...only song of their's i liked was Hotel CAlifornia...and Witchy Woman..

the Doors??? ooo you blaspheme...mmmm well without Jim Morrison, there was no Doors...but tsk tsk on you Feather lol...

I've heard that too about PF. I for one love country music and I have never heard one bad concert from any artist.

I guess that explains why I never cared for Pink Floyd then, Val...lol...

Aretha Franklin.... everytime she goes into an "AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!", I feel bad for the poor leprechaun who was unable to bring her the gold fast enough. Fricken banshee.

Human League... so, what, they were asexual, unemotional British robots? Don't. Don't you want me, you know... EX-TER-MI-NATE! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!! Oh, and throw the Thompson Twins, Tears For Fears, A Flock Of Seagulls, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Simple Minds in with them. They all suck.

Genesis/Phil Collins/Peter Gabriel....Don't really care for any of them

Diana Ross.... everything she does sounds so full of ego.

Awww, I like Pink Floyd.

Music that makes you think is just my thing I guess?

I dunno. o.o

I liked the Wall, it helped me with my depression.

Never really listened to Springsteen that much, but I loved his recent "Radio Nowhere" single. I (shamefully) haven't listened to Pink Floyd that much, but I generally like concept albums, or Rock Opera stuff. Lyrics are important to me. Albums that have a storyline, however weird that story may be. Greencarnation's "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" for example, or the classic "Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds" or anything by Arjen "Ayreon" Lucassen...
