A great Canadian icon, Peter Jennings died yesterday and the news world will never be the same. He was a great news anchor and he'll be missed. He died of lung cancer because he was a heavy smoker so just a reminder to all of you who still smoke to consider getting the patch or gum.

Yes, I've been including him in my prayers since I heard of his passing yesterday (its important to pray immediately over the deceased for the repose of their souls). Truely unfortunate this is, albeit forseeable. But its not to be overshadowed by the good fact that he lived his life the way he wanted to, seemed content, and was a success. He's one of those images and visuals of tv news reporting that we won't soon forget. Thats something to be happy about. Theres always a silver lining to great people. 🙂

Peter Jennings was one of the best reporters and news anchors in the history of broadcast journalism and he will be sadly missed. I don't think the major TV networks will ever be able to replace men like Peter Jennings, Dan Rather and Tom Broucaw(sp), they were a credit to their trade.

I think that Peter Jennings was the best network anchor of his generation, always knowledgeable, well-mannered, and fair. He will truly be missed.
