So, after months and months and months of not posting anything (last ones I did were those Guilty Gear sprite manips), I finally decided to start drawing again. Or rather, draw tickling art again. This time, however, I finally started using two things I've been told time and again to incorporate: Photoshop and ink.
The ink came out quite well, as I've started using it since the beginning of '08 and it's proven to be a lot more fun than I thought. The photoshop, although not used very well, at least has allowed me to colour my work. And to apply a filter called Cutout, which gave the image a more edgy, stylised appearance.
Featuring here is a setting of my own design (well, it's intentionally derivative, but yeah), which features both Anime girls and Mecha. What could be better? 😀
Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did making it:
(Comments on the artwork are appreciated! )

Ens. Aiko Subatsu, Recon pilot of the Earth Coalition, could recognize trouble when it came. The thing was, she hadn't really expected it on her very first field assignment. The objectives had been to enter Mars' Atmosphere and plant landing coordinates near a communications installation controlled by the Mars-Colonist Military. It should have been easy.
And then trouble came, and she did recognize. It came in the form of an MCM-07 Maenad mecha, dropping out of its active-cloaking and intercepting her own EBM12 Outrider en-route to the communications station. Only minutes later, she was forced to bail out of her machine and surrender...
1st Lt. Larani Syfer had not been happy, when she'd been relieved of her role as a Black-ops commander fighting to retake Phobos from the Earthers, and instead was placed on Border Defense duty. How boring. It had been the same thing for three weeks; track and hunt down insurgent mecha pilots and preferably capture them. But she was just sick of it by now. She wanted a personal chance to teach some Earthers a lesson. And when she shot down her fourth target that week, and had the Earther girl at her mercy, her eyes fell on the repair kit in her cockpit. Among it were ropes as well as a large brush used for cleaning out blocked exhaust-pipes... an idea sparked.
