I am absolutely astounded by the reputation of thees dogs! I have done my homework on this breed and have found that they are not bad dogs and they are actually quite sweet. They are animal aggressive but not human aggressive. I was wondering if anyone else knows anything else about this breed and if anyone has expirienced any problems with this animal?

My 70 year old Grandma has a couple of them. Nice dogs, they usually are when you don't kick the crap out of them and teach them to attack. 🙂

the hollywood brother is a dog guy in general. the hollywood brother thinks that pit bulls get a bad rap because of bad owners. they can be loving and friendly dogs if socialized properly and taken proper care of

The old RCA dog, Nipper (you see him on the labels of old Elvis records and such), is an English bull terrier. Nothing at all like the "land sharks" owned by nefarious people, which get all the press.

i got attacked by a pit bull once while i was roller blading. lol it was epic.

There are no dangerous dogs, only dangerous owners.
It all depends on how the owner train the dog. I have a Bull Terrier
myself and I get the question "is it dangerous?" all the time.
They are one of the moust loving races I know of. Here in Norway
they aculy banned Pit Bulls. 🙄

Same story told again. Pit Bulls have essentially become the new Doberman/Rottweiler. They got a bad rap mostly because of underground dog fighting. It's a sham because they are one of the friendliest dogs, they just love fighting. Pit Bulls are the perfect dogs for it too, they're extremely aggressive towards other Pits.

The problem is their jaw strength. When they escape, or if they're a guard dog and jump a fence/break a chain, they do serious damage with each bite. Last time I check I'm pretty sure that they have the strongest jaw for dogs.

There was a good sized thread awhile back about a ban in the US, can't remember which state/city. It's stupid but people want an easy way out, ban the dogs or hunt down the dog fighting rings. It's an obvious choice what politicians are going to go for...just a shame.

One of my good friends has two pits and they are great dogs. Pretty much big babies that a scared of things more than aggressive.

well I think that about proves that Pit Bulls are not mean dogs and that they are no more aggressive then say a German Shepherd or Labrador

All bases on how they are raised, trained and treated. We had a mistreated one next door to us once. He had a mean streak but to not us. We made sure of that by giving him some of the hides in the bucket of bones we would get from a friend who had his one BBQ place. The dog only had one tooth left so we couldn't give him any of the bones. When ever he broke loose and we were walking out dogs, he would chase after others, but come up to us and lay down for us to pet him.

It's all in the delivery and treatment
