Portland, ME Munch - Oct. 3rd

The first weekend in October happens to be the end of Drew's next vacation time. We plan to spend a couple of days up in Maine. Soooo...

Come enjoy the New England fall foliage and join us for lunch in the Old Port area. After lunch, we're thinking about taking advantage of a trolly trip to see the sights...including the beautiful Portland Head Lighthouse. So, if anyone would like to join us, it should be a great day!

Back for a bit in between trips. If anyone else is interested, please get in touch with me by Thursday night for details. As for those who are already planning to join us, a heads up. It will be chilly and rainy on Saturday. So, we'll likely skip the trolly ride deal. But, there's a multi screeen theater nearby if anyone wants to do a movie. We'll just do lunch as planned and make the rest up on the fly.

We're back home in between trips. So, I wanted to hop on and post final details on the munch for this weekend. Here they are...

When: Saturday, Oct. 3 at 12 noon
Where: Sebago Brewing Company
164 Middle St. (Old Port area) Portland, ME
Who: Anyone who wants to join us!
Why: Just because!

We'll meet at the corner (or on the porch if it's raining) and head in together. The weather is supposed to be in the low to mid 60s and rainy on Saturday. So, plan accordingly. If we get surprised by a clear day, we may do a bit of sight seeing. If it remains rainy as expected, there are a bunch of cool little shops in the area, as well as a big theater if everyone wants to catch a show. Aside from lunch, we'll just make things up on the fly.

For any who might need directions...

To Sebago...
Take I-95 to the Portland area and pick up 295.
Stay on 295 to exit 7.
Take exit 7 and merge into Franklin Arterial/Franklin St.
Continue on Franklin St 7 blocks to Middle St.
Sebago will be 3 blocks down on your left-hand corner.

To closest ramp parking...
Continue on Franklin St 8 blocks to Fore St.
Turn right onto Fore St. and continue 4 blocks to the Fore St. ramp
Walking back to Sebago, just head left out of the ramp.
Turn left up Market St. to Middle St. (3 blocks total)

Thanks for posting that for me Ray. We were in Maine on vacation and out of internet access.

Why postpone? By last evening, all but one person had things come up, preventing them from joining us. Because of the nasty storms that were to move in today, we decided it was best to head back before they got too severe. We were able to contact the one person still planning to come. So, we left after breakfast rather than late afternoon as originally planned. We made it home just in time to miss the worst of it...even though we had rain all the way back. It's been pretty nasty since we got in.

When will this be rescheduled? I'm not sure. Drew & I go up fairly regularly for day trips. So, we'll let folks know next time we're heading up and just do a last minute thing...and plan around the weather. lol
