Potential art project

I've been toying with the idea of a foot tickling themed art project featuring outlines of women's feet. Any thoughts on how to get women to trace their feet-or let me trace them?

i remember tracing a girl's feet in school way back when like in elementary school. don't remember why. whatever i was learning, that coulda been the reason you could ask for women's traces.

I would be honest and tell them about it. Your honesty may pay off and they may let you for the sake of art, especially if you present it in a non-sexual context.

My thinking in this situation is that if you have to lie to accomplish something so small, it wasn't worth lying about.

Appeal to their vanity. Sweet talk them, tell them they have cute, ideal feet that would look good for this project and would really help you out. Provided this is true, and you are not lying, then its a double-gain- you were sincere and honest, and getting them to do it with less deception and more flattery is the spice which makes the accomplishment taste great. Also, you may have made someone feel good about themselves. Even if it is just their feet, a compliment is a compliment, and most people, females especially, would appriciate that (but not of it's bullshit just to get to touch them, which women are good about sensing sometimes, which is another motivator toward being honest).

It has begun

Got my first outline today from the lady that owns the new wine store here in town. I was honest and up front and she was very nice about it, and I handled myself very well. I was more focused on getting the tracing right more than anything. She had faint freckles on the top of her foot and giggled a little as my pencil went around the curves. "Anything for art," she said.

The Project so far...

Thus far, I’ve collected ten outlines (eight women, two men). It was awkward going in the beginning. After the lady at the wine store, the only other one I got was the lady at our local book store who’s been very supportive. Everyone else I asked either turned me down flat or just looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.

But things began to change. The book store lady talked her daughter (who “felt weird about it") into letting me trace her foot, but only if she wore socks (“If I had to do it barefoot, I wouldn’t be able to stand it."). I actually prefer tracing stocking/socked feet myself. That way, I don’t have to get in between their toes. The minute I started tracing her foot, she yelled, “Okay, that tickles!” She had this low, lyrical, singing laugh. I’m sure you know the kind. Her mom said, “Well, you know how ticklish I am, and it didn’t bother me.” Maybe I traced the wrong foot. Anyway, her daughter successfully survived and I was very grateful... among other things.

After that, things began to turn around. I got five outlines at my church, which I didn’t even expect and wasn’t sure if I even wanted to ask around. But we were having a birthday social and I was tapped to help with the upcoming Christmas show. Then I thought, ah what the heck, and asked the lady that tapped me. She readily agreed to my surprise, then two other ladies and two guys came forward and I didn’t even ask! I was so pleasantly surprised, I’m going to do a second art project just for them.

Today, one of the secretaries at my job got wind of my project and offered her foot. She kicked off her shoe, stuck her foot out and wiggled her toes. I dutifully traced her and then asked the other secretary if she wanted to volunteer. She thought for a moment with wide eyes and a huge smile on her face, then took off her shoe. “I normally don’t show people my feet,” she said, so I felt privileged. Of course, I’ve felt privileged that every one of these people have let me trace them. Anyway, she squealed, “Oooh, that tickles!” and started stamping her other foot while trying to keep the one I was tracing still for me. And while rocking in her chair with laughter.
