After Ross meeting with Roy White, he went home that night, and tried to sleep, but could not. He quietly slipped into his home office, and was drawing up plan after plan to expand RK Mini Marketing as quickly as possible, so that Roy White and Bruce Rice could not be a threat to it.
About 3 am, Kayley entered the room, and saw Ross on the computer.
"What are you doing up? You need to watch your health, buddy" Kayley said firmly.
"I cant sleep. I'm just brainstorming ideas." Ross said, almost like he had been caught with another woman by his wife, when it was only Ross and Kayley in the room.
"You are completely full of shit, Ross, when you say that White did not get to you. He got to you completely" Kayley said.
"I 'm just pissed off, Kale, some bozo from my distant past comes along, and makes it seem like he is challenging me. "Ross said.
"What did he challenge you? He and another guy you don't like started a company. American free enterprise. So what if two guys you cant stand start a company? You can't control everything that happens in Marketing in the country Ross" Kayley reasoned.
"I almost feel like doing something with RK Mini Marketing, like selling it, or folding it back into RossShell, and going back to work on RossShell full time. Vic is doing a wonderful job, but I want to work with him to make it even better" Ross said.
"If you did that, you might have a larger company, but you would also have a wife who would be really, really pissed, because you promised me you were going to play around in a small company just to have something to do with your time. What the Hell difference does it make how big or powerful RossShell becomes, if we are not together in harmony, to enjoy the success?" Kayley said.
Ross sighed "Okay, Kale, you win"
"Its not about winning, Ross. You cant control 100% of all the world of Marketing in the world, babe, it just is not going to happen. There are going to be other companies out there that make money, even a lot of money, You just need to focus on your work, us and our happiness" Kayley said.
"Lesson from the teacher" Ross replied.
"I'm going to buy a small company as soon as possible, and fold it into RK Mini, just to take my mind off of Roy White" Ross said.
"Since this is my company too, legally, I swear to you I'm going to ask you to show me the financial statements of RK Mini and RossShell. Something tells me that RK Mini is not as small, as you promised, or you do not intend RK Mini to be as small as you promised. Your obsession with expanding and control is getting the better of you, Ross C" Kayley said.
"Kale, I swear on our lives, that RK Mini is 10 % of the net worth that RossShell is. Vic Barger is doing all of the busting his ass, which is why I pay him the money I do. All I do is to sign off on things on RossShell, buy things for RK Mini, and wave my hand at board meetings" Ross reasoned.
What are you going to do if Reese and White tell you to go take your proposal for a joint deal and go fuck yourself? Beat yourself up about not winning one race, when you have already won so many races, and put our lives in danger? Kayley said.
"I will swallow my pride, look at it as one potential lost deal and move on: Ross said.
"I will believe that when I see it" Kayley said.
Ross finally went to bed, had a restless night's sleep, and staggered into the office at 10 am, unusually late for him.
"The boss is a bit late today" Vic said, very respectfully and jokingly.
"Sorry, I had a bad night. That meeting with White is pissing me off Vic. If he does not like our proposal, we could end up in competition with him for companies" Ross said.
"Knowing you, Ross, even if that ends up as you dont want, and White and Reese are out there and not in with us, you will figure something out" Vic said.
For the next couple of days, Ross decided to draw up a proposal to buy two struggling marketing companies, with Reese and White, and Ross taking 30% each of the deal, and Vic taking 10% because he would be working so hard on it.
Finally, when the proposal was done, Ross called White, and told him what Ross had done.
"Roy, I would appreciate if you and Bruce would meet with Vic and myself as soon as possible. I think I have an idea that could be very profitable for all of us" Ross said.
"Let us all meet tomorrow for lunch" Roy said.
"Fine" Ross replied.
Roy, Bruce, Ross and Vic all met for lunch the next day. Ross handed Bruce Reese and Roy White the proposal he had drawn up. The two men looked at it, and really liked it.
"Since these companies are struggling. We could essentially get them for a fraction of what they are worth by just paying off their bank debt. Then, do a complete evaluation or both companies, and see whether we can break them up into pieces and sell them off at auction, or, try to get partners to gradually expand them slowly, to become profitable even if they grew slowly but surely. We could all take a small low risk bank loan at the lowest possible interest rate we could get, and make minimum payment paybacks every month, which would in no way endanger ourselves, or our personal or company financial position" Ross said.
Roy and Bruce both smiled. The two "Foes " loved Ross's idea.
"Excellent idea. Why dont we call the owners of these companies, and their attorneys , pitch the proposal and meet with them ASAP."Bruce said.

"Vic, what I'm about to tell you stays completely between us" Ross said.
"Of course, as always sir" Vic replied.
Since my wife herself told me that she wants RK mini to remain small. I could possibly put that on hold for a bit, give her some money, and then devote my time to figuring this deal out if we can pull it off: " Ross said.
"Good idea Ross" Vic said.
Ross had a new agenda. One that seemed like a could turn out well but also could potentially entail more risk than Ross had taken since he had worked his way out of the George Borgier fiasco.
Would this turn out as Ross had planned, or would there be an unexpected event that might hurt Ross and his empire?
That remained to be seen.
