that's not new news. i read an article about 3 years ago about the new technology entering the military in the future. one of the new goodies was this suit, could heft a large backpack and other things, and could do a bunch of other uses in the military

The US army has one that can already make a soldier a good bit more powerful. Not enough to justify mass production, but they really have yet to fully exploit the prototype. Still, the Japanese will probably swiftly speed past US efforts, especially with their aging population. 😛

Upon closer inspection that girl looks like she only weighs about 90 pounds or less and that guy looks like he's having a hard time lifting her even with the suit. I'm failing to see why lifting a petite woman (something that could easily be done without the suit) demostrates the suit's ability in any way.

Unless of course that was the point, that this guy can't lift her without it, which is sad really at his age.
