problem saving pics

i'm an aol user 9.0 optomized se.for the last 2 days i've lost the capabilities to download and save pics i know i should be able to.i can see the pics fully as jpg but for some reason when i save them into a file they turn into a art. file or a bmp. that cannot open.oddly enough when i do try to open it a kodak easyshare banner pops up saying i cannot do the action cuz the file is there but may be corrupt.this happens with ALL pics....anyone ever experience this??

That is one of the joys of AO-Hell 🙁 The "optimized" service gives the illusion of increased speed by compressing images with a propietary format that causes them to be saved corruptly.

With "optimized" AOL, the only way you will be able to save images normally is by using another browser, such as IE or Firefox. I do not think there is any workaround unless you can find an option to "not compress images" under Internet Properties or something similarly named.

ok..but i was able to save ANY pics in a file without a problem...till 2 days ago

My guess is that your preference somehow got reset.

AOL is absolutely horrible. I suggest canning it (if you are worried about losing your AIM buddies, you can run AIM without using AOL, or get Trillion, and talk to anyone on any messenger platform). The kodak banner is intriguing; unless you use their software for pictures you shouldnt be getting any pop ups. Have you tried saving your pics to different folders instead of the one your system is using for the default.
