problems staying logged out

Hi, I'm not sure if this is normal or I'm just being paranoid hehe, but apparently whenever I log out of my account and exit the site, I somehow stay logged in despite me not being physically (so to speak) present on the forums. Basically I'm staying logged in despite me not being here.

I know this because a fellow member has PM'ed me thinking I was online when in reality, I had been absent from the site for hours.

I was just wondering if I was staying logged and being displayed as online due to some of my personal settings, or is this a possible quirk in the site that may need the attention of one of the mods to fix...but any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me once. You have to clear (that is, erase) your internet cookies to fix it.

Click on "Tools" in your browser's toolbar. Then click on "Internet Options" in the drop down menu that appears.

You should then get a new little window where you can (among other things)alter your Browsing History. Find "Clear Cookies" and do it.

If you want to avoid this in the future, you'll also want to UNCHECK the "remember me" box each time you sign in. It will avoid all but temp session cookies being added when you log in again. You should also manually log out each time. The name sometimes remains for a bit, but generally not long.
