OK, after having n idea for a tickle game for a long time now, and toying around with RPG-Maker for hours, i've decided... I can't get it done, so I'll settle for something more simplistic, and since I'm better at writing than I am at programming, I think I'll go with a more Text-Based approach... however, I'm a little beat as to what this awesome community would appreciate most, and also searching for some inspiration ;-)

So, what approaches, programms, etc. are there that are easier to use than RPGM, and what formats would you like most?

How about a visual novel instead?
Just a little search and you'll find plenty of easy-to-use applications!

RAGS and Renpy, those two should be enough for you to toy around for months.

You want inspiration?

Go here. Buy MTJ's New Project. Play through it.

You make something like that, with that quality or even better, and I will PAY to play your game. Seriously, I still play that game because I love all the writing and additional/extended scenes. If you want a text based ticking game, nothing better than that.

Yeah, Animewatcher, I bought that game about 2 years ago and still am a huge fan... I think that this is the way i will go, but since i'm planning on using a world about 6 times the Omnicorp-building, that will contain lots and lots of writing... if you want, i can post my intro (Yay, finally got it done) and let you see fr yourself while gathering some feedback on my work 😀

More writing is good, just make sure it is well written. :stickout Having giant paragraphs of nothing but "HAHAHAHA NO STOP HAHAHA STOP HAHAHAHA" over and over again doesn't extend a story or make it better. Of course, I doubt you'd do such a thing lol. If you're up to writing so much, go for it; it'll give us TT'ers lots of hours filled with great entertainment (well, at least the ones who enjoy reading more than TLDR things).

You want me to check out the intro? I'd be happy to give my critique on it. Though do remember that the intro alone will only be scratching the surface of a game, so my feedback on it won't necessarily carry throughout the whole project.

So what base for the game did you choose? What program i mean?

I'm currently trying to figure out if I can do some of the features I want with a text-based rpg:
-some kind of fighting system
-different plot in relation to points (doable, but can i do more criteria, like points for benevolence (good or bad?) and points for efficiency (slow or quick)... for example, imagine a torture-scene... do you procede quickly, shattering your victim in the process, or do you try more light torture to get your info, which will take longer? it would be cool if i could really relate to those actions in points...

If you get it going, you'll have to tell me what program you used. I've been musing about doing a game for many a year now.

I'm currently working on a program that will play like one of those old "Fighting Fantasy" gamebooks from some years back. I'm not yet sure how the end product will play - as a web application or some kind of program you run on your system.

A while back I wrote a multi-path fiction program that enabled you to write branching stories but without some kind of conflict system & life points it was sort of boring. This is to extend on that. I have a partly finished cluedo simulation but have had to take some time out to improve my programming before I can complete it.
