Any suggestions? Techniques? I remember reading an article on how some professional models care for their feet, by slathering them in vaseline and then wrapping them in plastic wrap....

Vaseline and ankle socks work well. The Vaseline softens the skin, while the socks open the pores to allow for a more permanent moisturizing affect. At least, so I've heard.
Pumice stone to areas receptive of high stress like the heels and base of the toes does wonders.
I've also heard good things about this thing called a "ped-egg".

i am all about taking good care of my feet and it's cool to finally share with someone what i do =)

so first i just want to comment about the Pedegg, i highly suggest that you don't use that. The pedegg is like a cheese grader, once you scrap it across your feet it leaves scratch marks on you. Atleast this is what i've expericence from using metal pumice brushes.

the best things to use to exfoliate is anything that feels like sand paper. I use something called a Pumi Bar.

Its the same exact pumice brush used in salons. I bought it from a store named Sally's i don't know if this store is everywhere or just local.

I also use foot scrubs, two good ones are Heel to Toe Foot Pumice,
http://www.sallybeauty.com/Spa Coll...ce Scrub/SBS-147012,default,pd.html?cgid=Nail

and Earth Therapeutics Refresing Foot Scrub. You can get this from walmart

I use them both (not at the same time) i like them both equally. After that i use a regular wooden foot file, because the pumice stone doesn't get rid of all of the dry skin but it helps soften what's left. The foot file is what actually gets rid of the dead skin and once used after the pumice stone its very very effective.

Then afterwards i use Curel lotion, im sure any lotion will work, and then vasaline and then i wear thick socks over night.

These are the exact steps that i take
(usually done while in the shower) of course make sure that your feet are wet, or at least damp

1) On one foot, rub the foot scrub evenly on with your hands.
2)Do not rinse off. Use Pumice brush for about 10 minutes. Rinse
3)Repeat steps one and two on other foot

once you've done steps 1-3 then dry excess water off your feet. Then use the foot file.

weeeeelll, i hope this is helpful, its hard to type and explain it but i hope i was helpful lol

Hiya.

I have to disagree with you Meka.

I don't normally order those "as seen on tv" items....they seem to be a lot of fake shit.

(Like those other foot items, Kinoki Pads)

However, one of the news channels here did a test of the Ped Egg, gave it to their female employees, and had them test them. All of them replied that it safely and quickly removed the hard dead skin from their feet. They also replicated the test seen in the commerical, by dragging it on an inflated balloon, and it didn't pop.

So I found one in a local store and bought it. For $10.00, there wasn't much to lose.

It does work.....the rough areas on my feet are soft and smooth, and there are no scratches on my feet.

My brother's feet are worse than mine, and he got his own, says it works wonders, his feet have never been this smooth.

haha, well thats fine. i never used the pedegg but i've used things like it but all they did was scratch my feet. But good for you if they work 😉

I'm a proud owner of the Ped Egg (i have the white model) :ggrin:

It was only $10 dollars at the store so i thought hey why not? It works great for me. Just use the Ped Egg and my lotion's and tons of it and my baby oil and wear socks afterwards (fashion socks!) and bam. 😉 lol Bad Emeril Lagasse impression

Everybody thinks i'm Bi because of how much foot care and hand care products i use.

What's wrong with a guy trying to keep his feet and hands in as good of shape as they can be?

I wish that more guys would take better care of their hands and feet 😀

Well... baby powder helps for feet, from my experience.

As for hands, my hands are pretty much lost case... they're so roughened from all that working out that I don't even want to try and make them soft.

On a side note, would girls believe if you told them that foot massages help their feet remain soft and sexy?😀

I'm glad that someone agree's with me. It's not just only the females that love to take care of thier feet and hands. :super_hap

i agree, there is nothing wrong with a man taking care of his feet, hell some people like to act like their feet isn't even apart of their bodies lol

Probably because they're ashamed that someone might think they're into feet😀

lol I like to call thoses kind of people non feet people! or anti-feet people they really grind my gears  slap them with cheese stuffed crust bread sticks.

The softer the feet are the more fun evil ways and fun it is too tickle them :super_hap
or to get your feet tickled (as me being a Lee also) best of both worlds

now THOSE have to be very soft feet!

As for me, I don't know. I have naturally lubricating skin. All I can say is, wear very thick socks in a pair of knee high boots. If you have no kneee high boots, then wear a pair of very tightly tied sneakers with thick socks.

Thanks for all the advice.....and yes this actually was in reference to my own feet. I'm going on a certain trip at the beginning of August and wanted my feet in top condition 😉

I actually did pick up the Ped Egg tonight and I will attest it did wonders. The summer heat had taken its toll on my heels and this thing got rid of all the dried skin on both within an hour or so....ROCK!

LOL....

All HAIL THE PED-EGG! :ayyy:

FOR IT DOES MANY WONDERS FOR ALL FOOT PERFECTIONISTS!
