The only thing I knew for sure was the date of the Russian October Revolution: November 7th. I've been at many of their celebrations (and had too much vodka!).

I knew that the Hundred Years War went on for more than 100 years, but I didn't know the exact number (be honest, Q: you've looked it up, too!)

And I knew that the Canaries were named for the barking dogs the first Spanish dicoverers heard (canis= latin for dog), but I simply forgot it because of the misleading questions.
