I was looking in the TV theme section and someone was mentioning this great show. To answer the question asked somewhere in there, the first season is out on DVD and the 2nd season is avalible for pre order now and will be avalible in December.

Me personaly have been downloading episodes on the net lol...also reminds me, gotta go, its on TV right now on sci fi lol

That show was way ahead of its time...great series.

Good acting and usually great stories..I always loved the end of the show transition from his "solved" problem to his new problem...

I am glad to see that it is now on DVD...

Oh yes defenatly! This is my new task now that I own every Hulk episode in one format or another.. collecting the entire Quantum Leap series wether it be through DVD, VHS or bootlegged DVD's through internet download😀

Hi, Dskodj! It was actually Me! I adored the show so! OMG! You just made My day! I'll certainly look up the DVD collection. I'd like it if you forwarded Me the downloading URL info via PM.

I recently researched a couple of episode guide websites and was terribly fascinated to find out about the 'curse' linked to the Third Season's Halloween episode titled 'Boogieman'. All sites even warn you not to say the title out loud...creepy. Apparently, when people try to download so much as information on the episode--not to mention the actual episode--PCs have crashed and a couple of monitors even exploded in the viewers' faces. This only rouses My curiosity SO! I never saw the episode, but am now itching to tempt fate and download it...any dare to?

It's been such a sacrifice staying up or napping prior to the 2am showings on Sci-Fi...but SO worth it!

Holly shit! you gotta be kidding me bout the curse on that episode. I almost downloaded the episode yesturday but the download failed cause the person didnt have it all complete. These are the episodes I managed to download so far:

Genesis (parts 1 and 2..pilot episode rebroadcast)
Star Crossed
Double Identity
Shock Theatre
Mirror Image (final episode)

and a few short clips , one of bloopers from an episode and the lost ending to the series. Not bad for one week's time of downloading huh? LOL

I started recording the 2am sci fi showings tonight cutting comericals (since im a late nighter anyhow). That episode "Dreams" tonight was a damn good one, glad I recorded it😀

From back in the early 90s when it was actualy on and running I think I may still have a few episodes if I havent lost the VHS tapes through the years. None the less my goal is collecting the whole series! If your on the Winmx file sharing program I could hook ya up with what I just listed and also theres just about every single episode out there. Its my sorce for getting em right now 🙂 Let me know if your out there or would like to go out there and I can PM ya that info.

PS I dare ya to download the "curse" LOL. I belive in that type shit so I wont even attempt it till I know someone got it sucessfully LOL

Ah yes, good old Sam and his suit of shining armour. 😀 A series very like the one pictured in your sig, in that it involved a bloke moving from life to life, sorting out everyone's problems at his own expense and then moving on.

Hmmm, I never did think about the simaler ways of the 2...maybe thats one of the reasons I love both shows😀 I will soon own all the Quantum Leap episodes as I do the other😉

Another similarity between the two shows.......

....... is that they both had completely shit endings. Sam Becket never gets home and David Banner is killed doing something he survived at least two times during the series.

Do series writers never consider happy endings?

Yes I agree there! But actualy the true ending to the Hulk series was ultra shit cause Banner didnt die..he just drove off in a car with some woman to get a cure for the sickness that everyone got in the final TV episode (episode "A Minor Problem"). The "Death Of.." TV movie was actualy pretty shitty along with the other 2 TV movies as it went totaly off the series and hit straight for the comic book stuff. Only relation in any of them was in the first movie having Magee come back for a few cameos.

I actualy read on many of the series fan forums that if Bill Bixby didnt die they were planning on doing another TV movie and having it that Banner or the creature didnt die. But..sad enough, it ended cause of the real death. Dont know if any of that is true or not, but its what ive seen around on the forums.

Yes, they were planning a fourth reunion movie, apparently called Revenge of the Incredible Hulk. Whether David would've survived the explosion and the fall from the plane, or if Jasmine would've been pregnant with a son who suffered from the same problem, no-one knows for certain. I don't, anyway.

Death of was the best of the re-union movies because it was actually focused on the Hulk. The other two were cheap attempts to give other Marvel characters (Thor and Daredevil) a boost for a TV series. Neither happened. Death of had a decent-ish but underdeveloped plot (what exactly was "the cause" anyway?) and the crappest ending in living memory.

I do have to agree that "Death Of.." was the best out of the movies. But yes that ending was shitty as hell..and kinda cheesy honestly LOL. Now if they wanted to do that ending right, I woulda said at least have had Mgee in the movie and at the end have him find out who "john doe" was and the explination for everything.

I heard rumors bout bringing the Hulk series back to TV also, but I really dont think if they did it would even come close to what it was. No one can replace Bixby and Ferrigno and even the whole feel of the original show.

This Quantum Leap thread has turned into a Incredible Hulk show thread now it seems LOL. Were you a fan of Quantum Leap as well Jim?

I was indeed. And a very pissed of fan of it too. Lamest ending possible. But then Stephen King just ended the Dark Tower series on the lamest literary end of all time despite a build up of over 20 years and a plot gathering steam like a snowball rolling downhill. I couldn't believe how unutterably bad it was.

I have till now, forgotten all about Quantum Leap! One of my all time favorite shows! Hated when it ended although it really didn't end now did it.

I really miss it and am not home to watch the reruns when they are aired.

The fact that they are being released on DVD is great HOWever, are they in order?

Yes, right now there is the entire first season avalible and in December the 2nd will be. Right now it airs at 2am (west cost time) on the sci fi channel and they are on the 4th season. There is actualy some talk about plans to bring the show back and to do it in its original format, kind of picking up where it left off with that shitty ending. It means a sudden leap or advance in thinking or technology. Also means an abrubt transition in an atom or molecule from one quantum state to another.

Incidentally, maybe I skipped over this in the thread but I understood that the reason why the ending to Quantum Leap sucked was because it wasn't meant to be the ending.

Yes, I read that the other night. Apparently the Series 5 ending was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but the plug got pulled and they turned it into the ending. A cop-out. They should've organised a re-union movie to tie things up.

Things may actualy in the next year or so be explained either by a series revival or a movie in the theater according to what I read. We shall see how it turns out.

....we all know what a leap is but. Quantum means the smallest possible amount extra of something needed in order to make a detectable difference.

So how did any one come up with the idea that putting the words together makes sense?

One question to any true fans out there..what were some of your fave episodes? I havent seen every single one, I kinda missed out on the final season cause I wasnt round much at that time to watch it. So seein these for the first time as I download em.
