Hi. Please answer this question so we know what the % of interest is out there.

If we started producing our movies as VCD's (Video Compact Discs), would you be interested in buying them in that format?

FACTS:
VCD WILL play on most stand alone DVD players connected to your TV.
VCD will play on your computer screen as well.
VCD will let you fast forward and rewind, but not skip from chapter to chapter like a dvd.
The picture quality on a VCD is about the same as a VHS tape.
The picture quality on your computer at 352X240 is CRYSTAL CLEAR & EXCELLENT!
VCD will last forever, never losing quality from frequent use.
VCD is easy to store (and hide) for privacy.
VCD is MUCH more inconspicous to ship in the mail than a VHS tape.

So, who's interested? Who knows for a fact that they would purchase our videos in this media?

one mans answer

Personally, I love DVD's. They're cool. I've never heard of a VCD, so I would need more info to make an educated decision. I do however, have a DVD playerhooked up to my TV and a seperate one in my computer, so I guess I can watch it.....

Without repeating an old thread, basically I will never order anything, no matter what format, through the post to the UK again. This is because I have had several run ins with UK Customs and Excise at Mount Pleasant Sorting Office, back when I was ordering 'Cal Star' and 'Platignum' videos. Whatever the format, they will play it, and then make an arbitary decision to confiscate or not, and possibly threaten with prosecution.

If you check, you will see I am a member of your internet downloadable site, which is the safe format for me in the UK to buy Tickling material. Personally I would like to see this side of your operation expanded.

Whilst your internet site is fantastic value for say the first three months you are a member, downloading your 150+ clips and 1000+ pictures, the law of diminishing returns applies after that. This is because having downloaded what is available, there is not a sufficient volume of new material to justify renewing.

Why not kick out some 50 clips a month, and replace them with a similar number that would make up a complete discontinued video (say Dungeon of Sensations or whatever), changing the downloadable video each month. I would be happy to pay double (even treble) the current monthly fee, if I knew there was that volume of new clips (complete video) to download each month.

This of course may only be my view from the UK, as I don't know what the postal issues are in the U.S. But I am sure there are plenty of people out there that have some issue or other, about receiving things in their mail.

I'm surprised you had so many probs at customs - I ordered a vid from FM Concepts recently and it arrived with apparently no tampering. The vid was sent with a plain black cover and no title or pictures on it etc....

I would definately buy your movies even more often if they were on VCD, than I do now!!
A great ideá Kathy.

Well, I've always been in favor of videos on disk rather than on tape. I have ordered the CD-ROM versions, but there just isn't enough to choose from. If there were videos on DVD or VCD I have more than one title in my eye.

A flat disk is a hundred times better and less conspicuous than a tape.

Just one question. Is a DVD player/drive necessary to play this format? Can a CD drive read them? I just would like to know. I can get a hold of one if necessary.

I'm all for it, 100%. I hope there is enough favorable response to have these new formats out soon. I'm 100% behind it.

Thanks!

YES!!!!!

YES YES YES YES !!!!

I've been waiting for you guys to do this forever Kathy. Your my favorite tickle video company out there and I've always wanted your material on a format like this, a fomat that doesn't degrade like VHS. In my opinion this is the way to go. I'm big on tech and work in the computer feild and trust me VHS is going the way of the dodo. This would be a very vaible thing to do, and sooner or later (most likly sooner) your going to have to do it anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong but this should be more cost effective than VHS for TC videos too. So it's win win. Go for it!

If you go to this format I'll purchase every new release you put out on it with 100% certainty, unless I get killed. Thats the only thing that would stop me. That and God. I can't help it I'm obsessed with great tickling material and need help. 😉

I would definitely give it a try

As long as it plays in my PSII. What would the price be like vs. VHS?

I would consider buying videos in VCD format if the prices were reasonable.

Most DVD players are compatible with VCD, but as Kathy mentioned, the image quality is similar to VHS, not DVD.

Bye,

VCD

I like it I would buy tnem I just got a larger monitor for computer sounds like good idea to me.

Kathy, I would be behind this format 100%! It's a lot easier to watch something in the privacy of my studio than trying to find time when no-one else is around the TV! I would strongly suggest this format and would buy everything on VCD.😎

Don't get me wrong Kathy, but I think I'll continue to buy your videos that are in VHS format. Having your tickling videos on Digital Format would be nice, but I don't have a DVD/VCD player.

This surprises us greatly, as we have been shipping VHS tapes to customers in the UK for 2 years now, with NOT 1 problem (none) with customs. They all have gotten through just fine. My guess is that your episodes with cal star and platinum were of freak nature.

Yes a CD drive can play them but you'd have to do a name change on one of the files on the CD.
Now a DVD-rom on the computer will watch them without doing anything.

So you'd be able to see them on a Television DVD player, or on your computer. Try both! It's fun!😛

It's actually about the same cost Longbaugh! 😛

From what we've heard, PS2 will NOT play a VideoCD, sorry.
The price would probably end up being $5 LESS than a VHS.

OK Rookie, I won't "get you wrong." He he. 😛

Well, what's the verdict?

Will there be VCD format for TC videos?

When will this happen?

Please say soon, please!!!

Sorry for my skimpy post last time, but I was tired...

I believe that VCD is a great format for people who have trouble storing VHS tapes and/or viewing them. Some people do not buy videos because of the format (note I said some and not all, I am sure there are plenty of other reasons). 🙂

In my case, I am all for digital. CD-ROM, VCD, or DVD is fine with me. It provides me the opportunity of watching them in the privacy of my own computer without the hassle of waiting for the house to be empty to pop in the VHS. 😉

Kathy, I had asked the same question in the past but never got a response. I guess you just wanted to make it a surprise.

Either way, I thank you for considering this option. I really hope that if you implement it, your sales go up so that this medium becomes more of a standard.

You mentioned the cost was going to be about $5.00 less than VHS. How about S&H? How much will it be?

Thanks,

Knight Tickler

My DVD plays VCD, I'm all for it as it is easy to store or "hide" than video tapes. The Bat-puter also plays VCD. I'm all set.

Very cool idea, it's not DVD but it's close enough for me. 🙂

I suppose we should do it then. But here is a more specific question.
Out of all you people who are interested in VCD:

Are you also interested in our past titles on VCD? or only our future titles?

I have a DVD player but it does not play VCD's. So I would not be interested in VCDs, but I would be interested in DVDs even if they didn't have any special features on them.

I speak for myself, but I think I'd especially go for past videos. There are quite a few that you still have on VHS and I'd love to see them.
