Question About Forum Status

While checking the profiles of some of my friends on forum, I've noticed that the forum has two different statuses. Sometimes, if I check a friend's profile, it will say a last login date and time, for example, it would say, ("Last activity- Saturday, December 16, 2006, 1150am") Other times, when checking a friend's profile, it will just say "Offline", with no last login date, even if that person has been around the forum in the last couple of days, and I have spoken to them. I would appreciate a clarification of the difference if someone could possibly give one to me. Thanks.'

Hmm ... I'm slightly confused. There are two statuses ...statusii ... something, that the TMF provides in user profiles. For an online user, it has something like this (Taken from your profile as I type this):

Last Activity: Today 11:52 AM
Viewing Thread Question About Forum Status @ 11:52 AM

These are on two different lines to the right of the user's name. The top line describes the last time an "action," such as viewing a page or sending a PM, was committed by that user. The second line describes that action if the user is online. For an offline user, say, Kurchatovium for instance, the profile shows the following:

Last Activity: Today 01:57 AM
Offline

We again have the top line revealing the last time and action took place. The second line, however, will only display "Offline." This status appears when a user closes their browser/leaves the TMF for another page, although the latter may take a short while to register.

Mitch...the profile that just says "Offline" means the member is using the invisible status..correct me if i'm wrong here..like if you click on my name, it always says "Offline", because i am invisible..

Actually, HDS, I think you both answered my question. Your explanation told me about a person's last status at forum login, which answered my question, such as "Last activity;viewing thread-forum status 1152am", so, that answered that part of my question.
When Izzy mentioned the offline status, that answered my question as well, where she said that she is always invisible when viewing the forum.
Perhaps, as I think of it now, my question regarding "offline", I think I might also have been perhaps wondering if that status of offline, could mean that someone's computer is down, or such, but, maybe offline has nothing to do with someone's computer being down, and not having logged in. I see now that offline can mean both what Izzy said, and you did, so, again, thanks to both of you.
