the last couple of days when I try to play a video on youtube using internet explorer 7, I get a message on youtube saying that I have javascript turned off or that I do not have current version of macroflash. I do have the current version of macroflash, so does any one know how to turn on javascript in ie? Or is something else wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

It is likely a security feature in IE 7 that is blocking videos from playing.

If the instructions are the same as for IE 6, you can enable Javascript for youtube from Tools-> Internet Options-> Security-> Trusted Sites; add *.youtube.com as a "trusted site," uncheck the box that asks to require https: authentication, then click OK. This will remove security restrictions from the youtube.com domain but shouldn't expose you to other sites.

Personally, I use the Opera browser for streaming content, free from www.opera.com -- it's more secure than IE and more user-friendly than IE 7.
