Okay, so, long story made short, in the 1990's (when I was in highschool), Lucas released the original trilogy of Star Wars (aka Episodes IV, V, and VI) but with a added scenes (example: The X-Wings showed their pilots, Sly Snootles was now CGI, and there were additional dancers in the Max Reebo band). These were the special edition episodes and while Lucas released them on VHS I don't know if he ever released them in Bluray quality for DVD.
I bought the original trilogy on DVD shortly afterwards as a box set and unfortunately it came with an added scene not in the special edition movies released in the theaters (aka it showed Darth Vader flashing back to Padme with music from the new trilogy as Palpatine was killing Luke with Force Lightning). I hated that change with a passion. My question is, in a nutshell, does anyone know if Lucas (or anyone else) has released the special edition movies that were shown in the Theaters in the 90's as 1080 HD quality DVD's? Any help on this is appreciated. 😀
