Question about the search function

When I search for f/m in "title" I get no result. The same is for ff/m and fff/m. But ffff/m works - even if it also returns lot of ffff/f and so on. Is it so that search words with less than 6 characters are denied? If yes, why? And what to do?

I hope there is some kind of way around this - it used to word!

The search function is not perfect since the upgrade to version 4. A workaround is here.
