Question for Kathy

Hey.
I'm a lurker . . . i have never bought a tk video in my life, and most probably won't buy one in the not to distant future. Some people out there consider me the tk-scum of the earth. But for whatever reason i dont have the resources to purchase any of the great abundance of these positivley arousing videos.

I have a question for Kathy- Why no clip for the new vid? Is it to test whether their really needed? Is it because people were a bit negative with thier comments last time? Was it because there was no time? Is it to stop free loading bastards like myself from taking advantage of a small company? I would consider all relativley viable reasons. Personally i think realtickling is the best company out there, but i will never purchase a video from them . . i have my personal reasons.
Don't take this post as a flame or a message with negative connotatation . . I am simply curious, and i know im not the only one.

I'm Not Kathy, But . . .

. . . I have been weighing in occasionally on the business aspects of the tickling world. Some time back, I posted a lengthy piece describing why the "free content" pipeline of tickling material was constricting and why that reduction in flow would inevitably continue.

I redirect you to the piece to spare Kathy and Jeff and all the other tickling vendors the tricky task of having to justify their efforts to make a reasonable profit. No matter how carefully they frame their statements, it's hard not to come off as being a little, well, businesslike. They didn't invent the capitalist system, however, and we really can't hold them responsible for the ramifications of living within that system. Producing goods and services costs money and the people who consume those goods and services need to pay more than it costs to produce them or there will be no more production.

The future of long free clips is dim due to that economic reality--not because the vendors are mad at people or upset about complaints about clips. The good news here is that our interest is evolving to the state that we might actually be able to support some vendors who can provide a steady supply of high-quality material. The bad news is that we'll have to change our expectations of what's free and what isn't.

Nobody is viewed as "scum" because they can't or won't buy a car and, instead, take the bus to get around. You make your choices and live with the consequences. However, you might get a bit annoyed if someone who chose not to buy a car jumped up on the roof of your car and expected you to take them with you wherever you went.

Anyway, economics and marketing are not nearly as interesting as tickling, so you will probably want to abandon this thread now and return to the regularly scheduled tickling discussions, which are already in progress.
