question to all magic and other trading card collectors

Hey guys,

I was cleaning out an old storage room in my parents house, and I came acroos soem old Magic cards from the first two years they were being published, as weel as some DC and marvell comics cards. My question is are they worth anything? or should I just put them all in the trash?

I'm not sure if any of them would be worth anything NOW...but later on, they might be. I'm saving my Marvel Overpower cards just in case the game gets popular again.

As for Magic cards...don't they have tournaments for that card game? I seem to remember that being mentioned on either TLC or the Discovery Channel. I think the Magic ones might be worth somethin later on. I wouldn't really know, though. lol

If ya got any Overpower cards that I haven't got, I might be willin t take em off your hands, though. lol 😀

Hellz yeah...

read InQuest or some other CCG magazines...some of the old school cards are worth easily a couple hundred bux a pop, a few are worth almost 500 and going up...hang on to that stuff, the older the cards, the better!!! And if you DO decide to throw them out, I'll send you my address and a couple bux for'em...hehehe 🙂

I have a very old collection of Magic cards. My friends and I played back when it still held true that he with the most and best cards didn't always win against a simple, well-balanced deck.

Some of the older cards from anywhere before the Legends expansion can be worth quite a few bucks, if they haven't been reprinted in the fifth or sixth editions. That's not to mention Alpha and Beta cards, many of which I still have. My Beta Black Lotus is currently listed at around $300.

I was heavy-heavy-heavy into the Magic cards when they first came out. I have, literally, thousands of these cards. It's the only "game" I went nuts over.

It's been a long time *the years since becoming a parent* since I've played, so these boxes just sit in my studio collecting dust under a table. Where would I find out about card values if I want to pawn them off? I'd be delighted to see that spot on the shelf become bare and make a buck in the process!! Hehe

I'm a devotee of Magic: the Gathering. Also known as Magic the Addiction, Magic the Obsession, etc. Here's the sitch. These cards are still valuable, especially the older ones, as many of them are out of print. However, due to the recent emergence of the ONLINE version of the same game combined the recent downturn of the economy in general, the prices are falling fast. Recommend you sell at the earliest opportunity. Scrye magazine will give you an example of what the cards are worth, but because they only publish every other month the prices aren't exactly gospel. There's still the problem of finding buyers.

Ebay is your best shot at finding buyers. There are other auction sites dedicated to collectable card games, true, but none of them have as many viewers as Ebay yet.

As for the DC & Marvel card games, Scrye puts out price lists for those also, but the market for them is all but dead. Sorry. If you're lucky enough to find a buyer, great, but don't get your hopes up.
