I've heard rumors about this RL stuff, but I think it only exists in Upstate NY. We're doing parallel universes and alternate realities for the most part down here. Right now I'm in "baby land", where I have ceased to exist except as an extension of the child..lol. Q

Yup....

That's my official source of income bud. Laundromats out here tend to be a bit...different...than what I've seen in the rest of the country though. They're bigger and have a lot of amenities here, and cleaner than restaurants. Only place with anything similar that I saw was in the Carolinas, where they let you open a bar in the laundromat...lol...Suds and Duds is the chain I believe.

I own or am partnered in 4 of them and I do some other things as well, but on the TMF I spoke about the laundromats quite a bit over the last few years, so it seemed a fair choice as an answer. It's about as boring a business as you can possibly imagine overall though. The machines do the work, and the attendants do anything else that comes up. Cleaning service at night, repairs done by a partner....basically I'm just a figurehead who brings in supplies and empties out the hard working machines. 5 years of college for that...ooops...saving that for the next quiz...lol. 😛 Q

Practical intelligence!

Well, thanks...but I see this as an extension of being just that. It's a cash business with minimal work that allows me to play hard at other hobbies. My actual work experience was mostly with Pepsi-Co, where I was a management drone for about 15 years+....wasting my life away in incredibly long repetitous meetings, playing with budgets and product rollouts and traveling (which I hate...lol..."my backyard" is my fav vacation, remember?), worrying about P& L statements and generally surpressing my sense of humor. It was good money and a bad life. Decided to "free" myself and looked carefully at a lot of businesses, and *voila*...12 years ago I made up my little list and out popped "laundromat"...lol. No prob asking, btw..I'm quite chatty when I'm in a non Mod role, as many here can attest. Q
