My boyfriend and I are both into wrestling (he's probaby the bigger fan) and today he told me back in 1999 Owen Hart died. Very tragic and upsetting. Definitely a legend!
yea I was HUGE into wrestling back when I was a kid, and have been watchin it on and off the past 6 months or so. When Owen Hart died it was awful man. He had so much natural talent it was insane. He was just as good as Bret was, but much more acrobatic. Pretty fuckin tragic how he died. Definitely different from the usual suicides and drug overdoses you see in the wrestling world. They definitely die young.
I'll never forget Owen, one of my all-time favorites! The Pay Per View was the night after my Senior Prom, I was working and I remember I couldn't get home fast enough, hoping to see that he'd won his 3rd Intercontinental Championship. I sat there in silent shock, for what must've been hours, staring at that computer screen in disbelief...
That was probably the most tragic time in wrestling. As a youngster, I met him at a fan event before Wrestlemania XI, and he couldn't have been nicer or funnier. One can only imagine what the world of wrestling would be like today if Owen Hart still ran the ropes.
Owen was great! Maybe even the best tallent of the whole family. And he really didnt even wanna be in the bizz, he obligated to because of his dad (The the great Stu). I watched that ppv , and as soon as it happened they turned the cameras around so they were facing/filming the audience and the announcers. You knew instantly that it was really bad. Very very sad situation. 🙁
